I've noticed that too. I think they're just worried that if they release it just like that then it will be way too different and extreme looking for most people. They have to gradually step toward that so they don't alienate buyers of the previous one.

I don't understand why car makers always make the SICKEST looking concept cars but always the new model that comes out is just a little step ahead of last year... If they would actually produce one of these insane cars they would sell like hot cakes. I don't know why every single brand does this...

Hyundai Motors manufactures its own engines (Lambda, Theta and Tau are the main 3) and they are one of the most technologically advanced engines in the world. Korean technology companies are the most advanced in the world (look at Samsung... the world's biggest and most advanced technology company).

Looks like hyundai is taking the genesis to the next level and making it a luxury brand by itself, possibly just called genesis with the new badge...something toyota did back in the late 80's with toyota and the lexus was born.

Really? Who thinks that the past 20 years sucked? I sure don't. And I'm pretty sure that there were designers of this caliber that existed these past 20 years, but people just couldn't accept to move into the future that fast and well it was all just a dream because technology had not caught up yet so they had to make something that was fit for that generation.

Actually they still historically are stuck in the same place as before their revamped Sonata and Genesis line

it more looks like a breed of an Audi R8 + Maserati gran turismo from the front and a BMW 6 series + Jaguar XJ from the rear end.....

How don't they copy? You can't explain that. It's a fact whether they do, or they don't. Let's review some of their designers. Andre Hudson. He designed the Sonata, Genesis Coupe, and a few other models. They don't look like their competition. Do you know why Hyundai and KIA have been able to sell well? Not only do they offer quality and worth, but they are eye-catching. And that can't be denied.

oh and have fun with your transmission, you will love it when it breaks after your warranty expires(which they always do)

ok most japanese cars are assembled in the united states, but it doesnt change the fact they most of their fleet are imported just like hyundai and kia oh and fyi, i test drove the genesis coupe 3.8 track before buying my 370z and you know why i spent the extra money, it was cause the interior of the genesis was made from cheap plastics, the transmission felt slushy, clutch slipped a lot, and on top of all that, it was slow for the extra 10K i spent on my nismo 370z, i got a car that works

it is designed by Peter Schreyer after all. i expect nothing less

I would be the auto maker that makes great leaps and bounds and try to cap the market. Would seeing one of these sick concept cars going down the highway not intrigue you? A lot of people would want it for its futuristic looks which means you sell more... Are they not out for the most profit? I don't get it, especially with a high end car... rich people are always looking for the exotic and extreme so they should give them that.
