Hythe Parish Church - Traditional Christingle, Xtmas Eve 2000.

The last Christingle service at Hythe Parish Church, Kent, with Canon Norman Woods BD, AKC as Vicar, Christmas Eve 2000.
Service sung by the Parish Church choir of boys & men.
The images shewn here are of the two Transepts (Soldiers' & Deedes' Chapels) as they were in the 1950's and largely unaltered until the retirement of Canon Woods as Vicar of Hythe in 2001. The Soldiers' Chapel was at some stage, apparently shortly after 2001, illegally denuded of all its furnishings, and a little while after that, an 'altar' of unsuitable proportion for the Chapel illegally introduced without Faculty.
This lawlessness came to light in mid 2022 as a result of a legal case advanced by me to the Commissary Court of Canterbury that this 'altar' be prohibited from use as a Nave 'altar' (an illegal altar which had been used illegally at services on the first Chancel step for some FIVE YEARS prior to my application!) and that the Soldier's Chapel be restored as closely as possible to the image in the postcard, with the SIX-YEAR RULE being waived in this instance due to the clandestine (cover-up) nature of the discarding of the contents of the Chapel: blatant dishonesty.
