65th birthday of the Vicar, Canon Norman Woods (and my 22nd birthday!)
The Choir Vestry was being restored and augmented at this time, so the makeshift choir vestry was in the Soldiers' Chapel (before it was unlawfully emptied and its contents disposed of during the subsequent Incumbency). Thanks to this quirk, and because the recorder could therefore be placed under the former Chapel Altar, although the casette tape is VERY shaky until halfway through the first hymn, you can hear the Vicar greeting the choir and instructing the Treble that evening to say the Vestry prayer in an audible voice, this being a particularly unique piece of historical footage.
