Husqvarna Automower Not Charging Troubleshooting Tips

Фильм және анимация

In this video we go through the basic items to check if your Automower is not charging when parked in the charging station. Too many times we see people jump immediately to thinking the Automower's battery needs to be replaced or that because the charging station LED is solid green it should be charging. As you will see in this video there are several parts involved in the charging circuit for a Husqvarna Automower and it could be any one of these components that is causing the issue. To figure out which component is causing your mower not to charge you need to start at the source where the power comes from and follow it until it stops. This means starting with making sure that you have the full 28 volts coming into the charging station from the transformer. Then you need to make sure that the charging station is putting out that same amount of power at its charging contacts. After making sure that the charging station is putting out the required power it's time to move on to the Automower and making sure the charging voltage is making it from the Automower's charging contacts all the way through its internal wiring and into the Automower's battery. If you have not viewed our video about errors caused by the charging current supervisor, and happen to have that error come up, all of these components mentioned in this video can be the cause of a charging current supervisor error because it is an error prompted by there not being the required amount of charging amperage reaching the mower's battery. So by learning how to test these components and solving the issue of why your Automower is not charging you are well on to you way of understanding and being able to solve charging current supervisor errors as well.

Seriously, thank you! Found the little plug was melted under the mower. On tip, get some test cables with crocodile clips, can then hook up mower to charging station and have it upside down to poke multimeter into various plugs! Thanks again!

Hey buddy, thanks so much for the video. It's very helpful. I'm dealing with an issue that says my charging station is blocked. It's actually finding the station just fine. It's hitting the charging contacts properly. I think I'm going to find that there is a problem with the charging contact plug that you showed around 11:49.

I ordered both the harness and charging plates. When I first accessed the harness, it had a small bubble and wouldn't come apart. So I figured that was it. However, when I changed the charging plates, I also found that one of those connections had corroded to failure and was no longer connected. Needless to say, it was good to address it all. Everything is charging now and appears normal.

How many amps should it be charging at? Mine charges at about 1.7 a for about twenty minutes and then it begins to drop gradually to zero and it doesn't charge after and doesn't leave the charger.

Thank you for a great video. In the last couple of days I had a problem with charging my 315x. It happened two times that the mower returned to the base but after couple of minutes returned a little bit back and stopped in front of the base with "charging system problem" error. At first I thought that power adapter is gone, but after watching your video I checked all the steps and find out that voltage at the base is correct (28V) but when I manually plug in the mower the voltage on the base pins is still 28V (and not 18V as you explained in the video). In the menu is visible that mower is not charging since is shows Current -143mA. After that I switched the mower off and then back on (as the app suggested) and it started charging with Current ~1100mA. I suppose that the wiring is fine and that the problem could be the battery since it has 6530 charging cycles. What are your thoughts on this? Thank you very much for your help.

I got this error again the same day I wrote this comment. After that I checked again everything and noticed that the cable which goes inside the mower is bend by 90°just after the connector. I straightened it by hand and put it back inside and for now is working couple of days without any problem. Maybe there was just a minor connection problem with that cable.

Hi. Great video. I've got the problem of The mower entering, then making a tone and then 2 seconds later making the disconnected tone shown a 7:20. The led goes off for a minute. I opened up the charging station took out the board and cleaned it. Everything else looks OK. But the same problem is happening. What else could it be? Is it definitely in the station or could it. somethibg inside the mower? The voltage on the connector s is correct. Thanks.

Just to follow up... I eventually tracked down the solution to this problem. It was the cable between the transformer and the charging station. I'm not sure what was wrong with it but when I switched in a new cable everything was back to normal. So the error of the green light turning off to no light as shown at 7:20 Can also actually be the power cable for any others that are looking for solutions.

Hi. Great video. I just noticed that when I put my 310 in the charger for this season it says charging, but when I locked at in in the app it shows that it actually drains. It went down from 13% to 12% to 11%. Then I jerked it out. Now after looking at this I measured things and found out that the harness shows 6,5 volts. Took it apart and measured 27,5 volt at the black and red on the cable at 5:08 minutes in this video. Looking at the harness and cables i could find no fault so I decided to try and measure at the connector at the top off the circuitboard that connects to the cable and I got 6,5 volts there. Faulty board on the charging station?

It could be a number of different things causing the issue. But the only way to narrow it down is by doing some resistance testing.

@@RoboticMowerServices I did your testing and found out that it was 27.5 volt at the end of the cable going into the board and then 6,5v of the connector on the board goin out from the board which is the only step that was not in your video. That makes it logical to assume the circuitboard. Looking at the board it looks clean and all, but I guss it could still be broken...
