Husqvarna Automower Front Caster Wheel Removal (300, 400, 500 Series)

Фильм және анимация

In this video we show you how to remove the front caster wheel assembly on Automower models 310, 315, 315X, 430X, 430XH, 450X, 450XH, 520, 520H, 550, 550H, and other models of Husqvarna Automowers that use a push nut style retainer to keep them assembled to the mower. On most models you can carefully use a flat screwdriver to pry the retaining washer off the axle , but that can easily lead to a slip of the screwdriver and jabbing yourself in the hand. That method also does not work with the high cut models Automower. The high cut models are 430XH, 450XH, 520H, & 550H and it is a bit more difficult to remove the retaining ring from these models because of how the front axle sits down in the lower chassis rather than coming up nearly flush with the chassis sealing surface.

Well done on the great work and support to the Automower community here. I have a 450X, reasonably good on DIY, and your videos are very very helpful indeed. I just changed the 2 front caster wheels following your guidance and wisdom (incl aplying grease as you suggested). Much appreciated and greetings from Southern Ireland (Killarney) !!

Thank you! Adding that grease in the areas we suggested has made a big difference in the life expectancy of front caster wheels on mowers we have mowing in wet conditions. Very cool to hear we're able to help Automower owners over there in your area.

Followed the great instructions and worked like a charm! My only complaint is the cost of a replacement front wheel from Husqvarna? $70 USD?? #robbery

The ones for a 300 series are even more expensive. But the good news is that all the new models coming out seem to be using the ones that snap into the lower chassis. So not only do they cost less, but they are much easier to replace.
