That's what I think as well. Listen to the accent , and you'll have a good idea of her problem. She's not from Florida, no matter what she states. But she is from a part of the country where the folks puff and blow about how smart they are.. Keeping quiet , and listening for 5 or 10 minutes will get you thinking that your dog can probably do as well on I Q tests. The retire to North Carolina by the millions, then set about changing the state to the way it was in the states they just left, and they left because they said it was all "effed" up. Doesn't make any sense at all, if thought about carefully for a minute of two.

Nobody see that change in the track is so hard .... it is going to miss Florida and head towards the gulf where warm water is going to strengthen the monster.

The casino and the Chinese restaurant will be open they dont close for nothing

Certainly she is speaking "off the cuff". Stammering from someone who doesn't do that normally is a clear sign that they are concentrating on carefully picking their words rather than just speaking what's on their minds. I think she wants to stress that this is a serious storm, not to be taken lightly, but she is guarding her words to keep from sounding over panicked and guilty of "fear mongering". I sympathies with her, but it still sounds as if she ate 5 pounds of coffee beans.

I can't disagree and hope you are right. It has been traveling west all along. No one has explained why it will suddenly turn north. Mass panic evacuation is big money. Georgia is loving the business.

I live in Florida and I tough something bad was gonna happen then I drive 8 hours to Atlanta and it turns out it is worst dam it....But I'm planning on driving to Florida on Sunday so the hurricanes are already going to have gone through the hurricane and Atlanta is going to get hit by the hurricanes on Monday good thing to have insurance

I live in Mesquite, NV so I don't think I should be affected. Well, we did have to evacuate a football name because some lightning was getting too close and then there was a lot of rain, but I just think that's a normal summer storm.

This is one of the most realistic newscasts I've seen on the possible consequences of Irma... If Irma shifts a bit more to the West, as it has been doing, Tampa is going to be in a world of hurt...and most of the news has been incredibly underwhelming in their discussion of the risks... First, I just watched the weather channel say that the keys will be hit by a category 4... and then in the next breath that the highest winds that they wiIl see is 108 mph... But that makes no sense because a level 4 hurricane has sustained winds at least 130 mph, and gusts up to 50 mph faster.... Second, If the eye stays in the gulf and this storm rides up the coast, it's going to go back up to a 5 because water temperatures are so high... In addition, the eye of the storm is over Tampa at 5am on Monday....high tide is at 6:23 am, just when the storm surge from the right side of the storm will be the worst.... And because Tampa has not had a direct hit by a significant storm since the 1920's, they do not seem to understand how much damage that area could take... I lived in Tampa from age 7 to 39, so I am very familiar with it's dynamics....

The 12Z charts shows that a more Westerly path then turning North later, taking it further into the Gulf of Mexico. Let's see what the new models show.

No you have really nothing to worry about. Everyone freaks over hurricanes and Floridians don't really care for anything that's not a cat 4 or 5. You'd be getting a Tropical Storm, something we get often.

The reporter is probably very stressed out thus the stutter. She lives there and most likely has family too. She keeps getting the newest news and people ignore the obvious. I would be just as nervous. My families prayers are with everyone in the path of this strong hurricane.

This whole this has been a complete debacle in forecasting since the beginning. They didn't expect a cat 5, they predicted it to either hit NC or go out to sea, the best model predicted it going out to sea in the Atlantic, then they thought it would go east of Miami up to GA, then hit Miami, then the middle of the state, and now the west coast. They destroyed the forecast of Harvey calling for a cat 1 landfall just a day before it hit Texas. But yet they can tell us exactly how the climate will behave years and decades in advance........ ok

I have a feeling it gonna hit tampa.
