Nothing news here. Cruise lines sail around storms all the time.

Been through a few and have always just had to switch some ports and were never disappointed in how well the cruise lines handle storms and NOT JUST hurricanes. Better than being stuck in a land-based resort with nothing left but to end the vacation when bad weather occurs..

Video did not live up to the title.

Got back from our cruise on Sunday and the hurricane has hit the 3 places we visited. Praying for all the people effected. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

People pay for cruise vacations months in advance. There’s no way to predict a hurricane on your vacation. Just cause it’s hurricane season doesn’t mean you should just expect it 😅 No need to live in terror

A Captain does NOT NEED PERMISSION TO PROTECT HIS VESSEL! You're into line needs work. Yes, they'll need permission to use alternate ports, but not to "move off course" for safety. No different from an airline captain.

Hurricane Beryl passed us in Grand Cayman at 5:30am this Thursday morning, about 60 miles south of us, as a Cat 3. We did not lose power or water, not much damage, thankfully. The sea on Seven Mile Beach looked like glass. It was so smooth she passed us at 10:30am. The waves were starting to build, and a lot more rain. Thinking of the others who were deeply affected. Also, us locals call it CAYmaaaannnn, not CayMENS. #cayman #beryl

I will never understand how cruise ships or vacationers/honeymooners get affected by hurricanes. Y’all knew about this hurricane for like the last week at least. They predict where these storms will go so everyone should be well aware. Either go to your destination and leave early ahead of the storm or cancel, and the cruise line should have gotten their ships well out of the way days ago before Beryl got anywhere up here, even remaining at a port extra days if necessary. Every time there’s a storm the news always finds some stupid family hunkering down in a hotel to interview like we’re supposed to care. But why should we when they didn’t even care about themselves? 🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🙄🙄
