Idol could have been used later. It has more value the longer you can hold off using it. But yeah, you should be playing it if you are 70% confident things will be going your way, after you had credible information that suggests you are a target. You are likely to lose no matter what, might as well focus on seeing the next two tribals.

@@swaggery Hunter had that idol almost from the beginning. He could have found another relatively easily. Also, he should have gotten a clue when Tiff did not play her idol as she said she would. I'd rather play my idol with no votes cast for me than have it in my pocket walking out after a blindside.

@@transcendm8656 All that work for an idol and Hunter is gone... But losing to Charlie was the real crime…athletic Hunter did not have upper strength to hold up his body and got beat by a guy who could not even pack his rope bridge by himself. Hunter should have relied on his puzzle ability to re-find his idol or win the next challenge. YOU DON"T KEEP AN IDOL IN YOUR POCKET when your name comes up with multiple people…and especially with a 1 Vote sway! Ugh... that was so chalkboard scratching annoying. Hunter was a big let down for sure. And watching him squirm with what to do…while everyone knew he had an idol…was annoying too.

If you know more than 2 votes are coming your way, not playing your idol is idiotic.

Yeah, especially when your threat level is as high as a challenge threat with an idol.

The mistake he made was telling other contestants that he had the idol. That put a big target on his back

I disagree, the target was squarely on him before he mentioned the idol last minute. He was too good at challenges.

Bless him trying to rationalize a bad move. It's ok buddy.

The leaving with idol in pocket club is not a good club to join.

See this season was so crazy that you could be this aware of what's going on and still go home with an idol in your pocket

I gotta say, this should be one of those dumbest move in survivor history. A challenge beast, knows he’s getting votes and unreliable tribe members and your friend was just voted out. You didn’t “misread Tiffany” you misread the room!

Such a strong start for him, but really a classic mistake despite all the extra calculations he puts on this vote, if you’re getting that many votes and you “know it” you should just play and flush your idol. Clearly it would’ve been possible for him to find another.

I can’t understand why they don’t play the idol! It’s like you work so hard to get it and find it and when you are in trouble you don’t use it. I mean just give it away or don’t look for it, use it for its purpose, I mean what are you trying to go home with it. Play the idol!!!!!! You can’t be gullible, you have no true friends everyone is trying to get to the next day. I just don’t get it, I guess I have to go on the show to understand lol

Major mistake from Hunter. If he wanted to win this survivor, he would have had to pull a Mike Holloway, win every challenge and immunity idol if you dont win. Simple as that. His biggest fail was thinking he was safe without immunity

You got bamboozled

He goes home regardless of Tiffany’s vote…they split the vote and that was decided before tribal. If Tiffany was gonna vote Q, then someone else would have voted Hunter. These players are too smart to make a spontaneous vote change.

You don’t make sense - a 3-3-3 vote split makes the most sense if they want to make sure one of them doesn’t go home 6 people voting vs 3 people (Q, Liz, Ben) If they do 4-2 and he plays his idol and the 3 of them vote ANYONE together that person goes home So to prevent that you do 3 on Hunter and 3 on Q. If he plays his idol then it’s 3-3 and you revote to get out Q 4-2 just leaves the door open for the 3 of them to vote anyone out they want Seems like just a mess and he went with logic

If the first vote is tied andmy name is on there, and I have an idol that is the next revote im playing my idol. Dumb move on his part.
