In training, the sensitivity, playfulness and gentleness are really quite mesmerizing...particularly in contrast to the art's practical application in combat.

Hi Bob Bader, yes, this is a branch of Northern Fut Gar, the set was taught different ways,m this is exactly as it was first taught to me by my Hung gar and Fut Gar Si-Fu the late Master Jimmy Chan Wai, in 1975

@@lionsroarsifu i trained for 8 years before anyone taught me how to use it. When I returned to my old school my older classmates were pretty impressed with the way I was moving. You move with intention, not like how most schools teach the masses. Because of people like you traditional styles will live on.

@@lionsroarsifu Sir, do you still teach or have students who do? My background is Hung Gar via J.Uglow Chan Hong Chun lineage, also some from Chui Wai via Tony Leung {steelwire Mantis} as well as Chow Gar Mantis with some Chu Gar, this was some time back 20 odd years ago, since then focused on Taiji [Hao style] and Hsingyi. I have been revisiting the Mantis [while i'm still young enough!] but really want to reconnect to the Hung Gar, your videos are taking me back and I love your expression of these styles, very authentic and you clearly know how to teach. Either way respect to you and your efforts in maintaining a genuine transmission.

@resonance10, thank you for your very kind words, at 66 years of age now, I’m considering retirement, from martial arts as I still work full time. Jim Uglow is a very highly skilled teacher. Respect to you and the Pai
