HUGE Upgrade to the Kitchen - AGA Masterchef Delux Install
For the last three years we've been cooking on a camping stove but today our kitchen renovation takes a huge step forward with the arrival of my dream cooker. I've grown up in homes with AGA stoves and love the timeless design, quality craftsmanship and modern cooking technology.
Watch the installation process, take a tour of our fancy new machine and enjoy a brief test drive to see how it performs.
We ordered this cooker from AGA Bras Lda. in Portugal who handled everything including the delivery and install. For more details, head to www.agaportugal.com or contact José Martins info@agaportugal.com

I was a gas engineer for 24 years, I've moved an original and it took 4 people, Agas are a serious piece of kit, quality, designed to last a lifetime, but man they are heavy

Agas are maginifcant and heavy; American invention of redisturbing weight with belts system to lift heavy objects is genius!

Fabulous 🎉. Ilove the Aga and the stone feature on the wall
The stove is beautiful and I'm so glad to hear you're doing the house in a traditional style rather than something sleek and modern.
Hello! For your backsplash, you could use a frameless glassboard, like a whiteboard. It uses wall mounting hardware that would space it from the wall and let your wall breathe. You could adjust the hardware with some washers for your uneven wall. I'm talking about the hardware that goes through the glassboard on all four corners. You could also use the back of it to display art or pictures like a normal frame and change it whenever you like. Oh, and it's easy to clean! Have a nice day!
Anyone who hasn't lived with an Aga; hasn't lived. It's a way of life!
Fabulous! Before we moved to Portugal we installed a new but vintage style AGA in our California house and we loved it. The brand is virtually unknown in the US, and the dealer said we were the first to buy one. Something about the multiple ovens can't take in a large pizza so Americans pass it over. Ours had gas range and electric ovens. The best of both worlds.
I’m so thrilled for you two! If anyone deserves an Aga, it’s you. Enjoy every cooking moment on that classic stove!
What I like about an induction cooktop is that it doesnt get burning hot, so whatever you spill doesn't cook on before you have time to clean it. You just wipe it clean as soon as it spill, with no danger of burning yourself.
Iv had the Aga Rangemaster Encore Deluxe 100 Induction for 8 years now best cooker I’ve ever had, perfect for serious cooks does everything you need & super easy to clean. I regularly cook for between 10-20 people & always have 20 for big occasions easter Christmas birthdays etc, this model handles it no problems. The tall right hand oven is fantastic for baking cakes, biscuits, trays of vegetables, you are going to love this cooker 👍
Aww Guy you looked so chuffed. I love your Aga and the colour is spot on. Was impressive how the Aga was moved into the house. Pleased for you both xxx
Those are awesome straps for carrying a heavy object!!
Could you possibly pull the cooker out from the wall a bit to reduce the issue of bumping your head? It would also allow you to build something to attach the splash-back onto... I don't think you would need to exactly match the cabinets to the cooker unless you want that cohesive look. A contrasting color would make the cooker stand out.💕💕

We had already pulled it out 5cm after we filmed this, but your comment had us pull it out another 5cm. Now we can run worktop behind (which will run to the eventual units on either side, and it’s a great way to mount a splash back. Thank you for the idea 😀

@@MAKEDOGROW Yay! I helped! hehe💖
In my 350-yr old stone farmhouse in France I inherited a huge cherry red solid fuel 1970s Stanley Aga, which the previous owner - a plumber & woodburner installer - had bought, dismantled & driven over from Ireland. I loved it: once fired up it ran very easily & efficiently (esp. as we were allowed to cut wood from the surrounding forest for free) and provided the core heating for the house (with electric back-up in winter). It was so heavy it was never leaving that house - in fact we used to joke that the house will probably have to fall down around it!
Completely off topic, but Kylie ive noticed the dark mole on your neck the last few episodes. As a fellow Australian im hoping you're keeping an eye on it 🙏☀️ kitchen is coming along. Love the stove. As a short arxe, the hood wouldn't bother me.

It’s been there for a very long time, I keep a close eye on it. I also get it checked regularly (of course it was drilled into me at a young age 😀)

I was a life guard back in Portugal and when I moved to the US my wife made me go to the doctors for annual check ups and they found 2 pre-cancer moles on my back, now trying to stay away from the 12-3 pm sunlight.
Things are coming along. I know for you it's been a long time coming, but the kitchen and the other rooms are looking great. Thank goodness the chickens came thru for you.
Great to see that you're finally getting the most important & enjoyable purchase in your life, the AGA is a fantastic oven, I've had a really old one previously and loved it. Interesting fact that it was invented in Sweden & brought to England in 1929 & sold to all the manor houses, they are still going strong!
The new AGA looks fantastic.. what a terrific choice. Many hours of happy cooking.... We did away with a coffee station and just love our induction stove top Italian coffee maker. Organic coffee and raw milk from our local farm. One of life's simple pleasures. BW
It's so fun to watch you sitting in a "normal" space!! It's a great sign of progress. Cheers!
My son is over 6ft and he bumped his head against the cooker hood so many times, permanent bump on his head 😂 It is so satisfying to cook a meal with everything from the garden, except the meat of cause. Congrats on the new cooker, it looks great! ❤️🌹🐝

Enjoy your very first meal cooked in the Aga! The kitchen is already looking amazing. guys!
Wonderful Aga! What a milestone! 🎉. I’m voting for clear glass splashback behind all work surfaces, mounted 8-10 ml away from the wall. Also with a circle cutout for your stone grotto wall features! Looking forward to some interesting cooking videos! Cheers from Melbourne! 😊

I wouldn’t do a clear one as grot, spiders, etc bound to build up behind and you'd feel obliged to clean it. Opaque or patterned I'd say.
The AGA is a nice color. Love the warming oven. Congrats! The little things make a huge difference in the enjoyment of our lives.
An Aga with an induction top, how freak'n cool is that. Nice one!
The cooker looks fab...definite cooker envy at this end! How about a refresher tour of the house sometime?
Guys size jokes crack me up. I love the honesty that most men with the same concern wouldn't speak up about. If only everybody was so real we would all realise there is nothing to worry about.

Aga stoves are very expensive, but they are built to be "forever" appliances suitable for your forever home. I'm relieved that Kylie mentioned a backsplash, because your beautiful plaster will soak up cooking grease like a sponge. I have an unhealthy addiction to my frying pan, but with your healthy dietary habits a ductless extractor should work fine. Unlike most cheaper induction stoves, you have a large burner for oversized pans, and you have a choice of ovens for any cooking process.
Jeez that simple little lunch at the end looked sensational.
Congratulations!!! What a dream unit. We are both cooks and really appreciated your video.
We switched to induction a little over 2 years ago and have never looked back. Just as powerful and controllable as gas without the smell and fumes.
I, too, have had two Agas in past houses and loved them both, even though they were both second hand and undoubtedly not as good as yours. One thing is for certain - you’ll never have to buy another one, ever again 😃. Enjoy!
How fantastic Guy! I love it! It’s coming together now! Saturday mornings for me is watching your vlog! Well done !🥰🥰
Oh yeah, an excellent decision, looks fantastic, well done
The amount of stove envy I'm having right now! That is a glorious unit!
Very nice AGA. They are fairly expensive, but you're building your forever home so you might as well invest. I had movers try to use the lifting strap with a refrigerator and it was a bit scary wobbling, but worst is they had to squat to get it out the door. I hope there are dinner parties in your future.
I really like these two naturals....
Dream cooker and that lunch looks divine, you should do more cooking videos 😁

Just sent a link to this program to my good friend Jenny Hyett - Sales Director AGA 😍
Wow! That's a beautiful oven. I hope you enjoy cooking every meal. The possibilities in your kitchen are endless.
That's not just a stove ... that's a mega stove! Love the colour and makes your kitchen look hot! ✨️👌
There is nothing like an AGA. Wonderful. The color and style are amazingly beautiful. Brunch looks so good. The stones are looking so beautiful. Your home is becoming a glorious place to spend time together. Brava Bravo. Love from Italy, Katie
I'm always looking forward to your videos every Saturday morning (that's how my weekend starts) love you guys and especially love hiw you are taking such great care of your beautiful old farm house, I have said it before but I will say it again you make me want to renovate my grandma's house there in Portugal, the older I get the more I want to leave Canada and move there Keep on making videos of your progress with the house and all your other fun projects Love love love you guys
You don't have to stick the splashback directly on to the wall. You could put small spacers between the splashback and the wall to allow the wall to breathe.
I miss my aga after buying a new house.. I got it as a gift from my husband, as an appreciation for my daily cooking 🧑🍳

Hi you guys loving the new Aga! It's looks fab in your lovely kitchen even though it's not quite finished we're loving what your doing just brilliant!
The stove looks wonderful. My recommendation will be to get a cover for the cooktop so you want damage the surface when you’re not cooking.☺️

I’m really enjoying your videos on your reconstructions to your home. The lime washing was very informative. My home, in the states) is make out of cinder block in the 1930’s. And the lime plaster and wash were used on the house. Now I have an idea on how to some repairs. Thank you!
WOW, that super cooker hood.....just watch y0ourselves or you will be getting sucked into it while cooking !! If the AGA ( one of the very few things which are still truly British ) had been an original you two alone would never have shifted it ! LOVE the colour you have chosen.👌Beautiful. Really looking forward to your cooking vids, thank you.
MAKE DO GROW COOK ! :)
Bloody beautiful cooker mate, I remember being in love with my British made stove years ago. One can get a lot of pleasure from ones cooker, so can one’s family and friends. Enjoy I say!!
How great is that cooker. I think the hob at head bumping height will take a lot of getting used to. If you use the back plates, leaning towards them won't be possible. Still we always manage to adapt. Best wishes

That hood would drive me crazy....I honestly don't think it's at the right height for him...and it seems to be too big. Just my opinion but the hood doesn't have to be the same size as the cooker to be effective. And how effective is a ventless hood going to be anyway? On the plus side, it is a thing of beauty and I have cooker envy! :-)
I agree, we have one. Very good. It was the oven. If it's on all night but don't think yours is like that . Keep up the good work, we're all on your side
Aga is some stove. Maybe the lights, camera, shadows, but thrown by the mismatched color scheme. The walls, ceiling, timbers, stone vs the table, microwave, cabinets (temporary), cream/yellow cooker. For now the new stove is the star attraction and eye grabber. Guy will hit his head when reaching to the rear areas. Twt - time will tell. Made the most of what was available in the garden. Such deep yellow yolks.
I foresee that extractor being raised about 5-6 inches in the near future. If Guy was to do much cooking he's going to get a kink in his neck. Lovely piece of kit that is, for sure!!
Beautiful cooker! Guy is particularly happy about this very nice addition to your new kitchen! ❤
It’s beautiful. Looks amazing in your kitchen. Enjoy!
We gut renovated two adjacent buildings beginning in 2018 (not in Portugal, sadly, but in Chicago). We installed three kitchens. One has a tile backsplash, one has Caesarstone (quartz composite) and one has large (4x8) porcelain tiling. The easiest for maintenance is the Caesarstone. We also considered a glass backsplash which is very easy to maintain. Presently we are embarking on a renovation of a commercial space where we will also buildout a kitchen. I think we might do stainless steel backsplash or Caesarstone once again. And so happy to see you bought an induction stove top. We are probably going to go that route too for your new commercial studio (photography) and many clients shoot food and while there is a mantra of "gas is best" I'm starting to hear that chefs and food stylist are getting on the induction bandwagon!
5/25 Sat 1:02 p.m. ❤️❤️❤️❤️👍 You are an amazing couple. An easy communication between you for what you are and will be doing. Enjoy you both so very much. The home renovation is terrific. The outside work surrounding the home was mind blowing. The inside......another mind blower. Thanks for your videos. Well done on each one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏
Rrally, I absolutely love Kayle laugh. You're an amazing couple. Hope you're alteady reading portuguese. Kayle continue rindo e espero que seu marido agora possa nos mostrar suas receitas. 😜
For the backsplash consider a stainless steel panel. It is what we had and loved it.
Congrats on your new AGA! It’s wonderful! I don’t think you should have to live with that extractor being too low for you!!!
I’m still hoping for the day you open your restaurant.
Those AGA induction top ranges are fantastic, my friend found one online that had a dent in the side panel but they could hide it with cabinetry so it was more than half the price! She loves it and has an old Adobe rustic style home in NM, it is perfect.
What a great idea for moving heavy appliances. And if you spill something it's so easy to clean up. I envy you. I hope you will have some vegan recipes.
Love the cooker. It has exactly the features I want. Now you just need work space in the kitchen
How does the hood extract the vapour and the everything else? Where does it "sends" the vapour it sucks? Nice to see some parts of the house being complete!!!

I’ve just noticed that you now have 100K subscribers!! Good for you! I always enjoy your videos, though I don’t comment much. This new AGA is a splendid contraption. I also have an induction cooktop, which is so easy to use, and the cleanup is so easy, compared to the glass top - just wipe up, even bacon spatter is no problem. Enjoy! Cheers, Judy
So happy for you guys! Cooking show??? Even professional installers have too REDO!
I think it’s wonderful that’s it’s bigger than you thought it would be and has a lot of sucking power lol I’m so pleased for you both xxx
Looks awesome! Congratulations on 100k xo
That was a professional installer!
My early years were cooking on a cast iron wood stove that heated the whole house. Tin ones are easier to find but not cast iron. I have always desired an AGA. The induction cooktop is also a winner with me.
Beautiful s stove! But I think it would be really beautiful tucked in that alcove area your shelves are at
Love the stove. Hopefully Guy will cook us some fantastic meals. Food from the garden to the table is such a wonderful extravagance. Best wishes to both of you.🎉
As an interior designer I’m jealous. Congratulations
Congrats on your shiny new kitchen addition!
I wonder if Jose ever lived in South Africa? I am sure I heard some Souf Efrican in his voice!!
Highly recommend Aga/Rangemaster. We had a Rangemaster Toledo 90 ceramic hob (pre-induction🤦♀️) delivered to Central Portugal 12years ago. It is still going strong! It was shipped from the manufacturer in the UK as options were limited in Portugal at that time.
I am in love with your new cooker😊 Greetings from 🇿🇦
I had an aga in my old home a miners cottage loved it hated having to sell that house glad you got your dream
Wow the cooker is perfect You two have worked so hard to get to this stage Happy cooking and eating your wonderful homegrown food 😊
I live in the Ironbridge gorge, the original home of aga…fantastic history.. Sadly no more
I got a new refrigerator last year and the two delivery guys used that same strap device. It was impressed. Congratulations on the new cooker. It’s a beauty. I’m envious. My stove top is a beast to clean.
Learned that strap moving technique when I lived in Lithuania. Works a treat, especially moving stuff upstairs.
Congrats on your new Aga. I recently installed a LaCornue Cornufe 90 with induction cooktop and also love it. Our ranges may be assembled in the same place in England, both companies now have the same parent. I love the ivory that you chose. It is a perfect complement to your farmhouse.
Stunning !
So lucky that the chicks thought of you both and great use of stale bread - I'll have to remember. I suppose you can do without, but are you thinking of some countertop space - seems needed for prepping? Otherwise, the kitchen is beautiful. More power!
You could find some old tin ceiling tiles (if you those there) and make nice looking panel that could be mounted with air gap behind.
We love your new cooker! Happy cooking on it.
Love your stove!!! Suggestion for stove backsplash ... mount a solid surface on half inch steel feet like cabinet bases, then affix to wall, then cover with a cleanable material ... steel, tile, etc. Breathable ... yet clean and functional. Colorado Cherri
Yayyy!!! finally the beginnings of a kitchen and the Aga is absolutely gorgeous, but the hood is too deep... you'll knocking your head a lot! 🤭
Congrats on 100k subs
