HUGE Sensored Castle 2028 800kv & Mamba Monster X 8S in Kraton 8s

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Definitely suggest a cooling fan for those who decide to gear higher than what I ran. Other than that it's a great 1/5 sensored setup.

I just got my mamba monster x with the 2200kv motor I was running 6s. unfortunately, only into the second day of use the esc released a massive amount of smoke and some flames as well. When this happened I had just finished temping the motor everything was cool around 130-140°F for the motor, not sure the temperature of the esc, even though that is within temperature I let it cool even until the esc fan turned off (fan was barely kickin to start with) once I went to pull away I only got a few feet before boom. I’ve done some reading apparently quite common when running 6s I’ve heard a capacitor bank is the fix but I’m not sure, also for all the people that say just don’t run 6s na it says it handles 6s and I want to use it what I bought it for without the flames. I absolutely loved the power it made so I want to keep the motor and continue to rock 6s. Maybe upgrading to the 8s esc just to not run at 100% all the time idk any help would be greatly appreciated

Absolutely claim warranty with Castle. Was the fan working when you stopped running the first time? The stock fans are weak and break which is kind of annoying. As for the boom part I am unsure, I usually bash with my mmx8s in a 30lb truck and it never gets hot. See what Castle says

Maybe I should have gone with this instead of going with the xlx2 and 800kv motor, but it was only like $70 more for all that extra power? I think it's overkill for my Outcast 8s. Hehe. I'm going to try 39/39 gearing.

You'll be happy with either the mmx8s or xlx2. Both run super efficient. If you currently have the mmx8s your golden. The motor gets hot faster than the esc

@@InnovationRC Yeah it's running perfectly fine with the XLX2 AND 1100KV MOTOR 35/47 gearing. No issues so far after like 7 runs. Some XLX2 are having problems but not mine. Castle mentioned that about 5% of the first batch can short out when plugged for the first time.

At the end I literally show the motor temp at 145°F. Esc was under 100°F after the whole bash session. Did you even watch the end? I recommend a fan regardless when bashing to keep temps down and to higher maintain efficiency. 140 is hot for me, I guess I have higher expectations.
