Armenians are amazing people and full of culture. Moreover they are the most giving people when it comes to hospitality.

What an interesting market and your translator was so knowledgeable and engaging. Would love to shop there for Christmas goodies!
Best video from Spain 🇪🇸
I've been watching your videos for some tiime now and I have to say that I like quite a few of them. Your doubts about filmimng local markets are unfounded. You did this one really well: hired a local guide (other travel youtubers rarely do that and they should); showed your viewers the variety of local products; talked to locals. And for me - that's the way it should be done. I've seen people making live streams from such places, walking for almost an hour and just making it boring. You found the right balance.
By using a guide to help you navigate the markets of Armenia, It make it so much easier as we did, to communicate and know what you're sampling . This vlog was lifted to great new level. Don't be afraid to use local guides. It costs but worth it. New friendships are created from engaging with locals. Great memories come from it. You guys are the best at making it look so easy. Sending you lots of love💖💖 Harriet and Jim from Richmond, Va.

What they are calling "armenian snickers" are a Georgian traditional dish who's name is "Churchkhela". Let's check on internet.
Nice...great market tour. Your guide is pleasant and knowledgeable.

Ahahah! Thank you so much. We’re glad someone understands!
GUM (ГУМ) is the acronym from Главный Универсальный Магазин which literally means "main universal store". In other words, it is the Main Department Store, so I guess it makes sense they call their market GUM since you can find all sorts of things there.
Romania pickes watermelons too, all you need is salty water and let the time take care of that😊. Very tasty

That "armenian snickers" is actually an analogue of the Georgian Churchkhela, a.k.a. "Georgian snickers", so it's actually Georgian "candy". 🇬🇪
Do you think you were not pushed to buy because you were with a guide?

Armenians like to feed EVERYone! More heart than business savvy.
In the video, you seem surprised that you're getting samples from everyone and discuss how friendly they are and want you to sample their food. Maybe I misunderstand, however, if you did a market tour (hired a guide to tour the market), wouldn't sampling of the market foods be expected to be part of the tour like all other tours of this nature? From your description, it sounds like you're saying that if any tourist walked in, they'd get lots of samples and I don't know if that's true, kind of depends on each vendor. I agree, it's a good idea to do this if you go to a place where no one speaks your language though.

No, a market tour normally is just exploring showcasing a buying, not being passed food at every opportunity. It was amazing :)
@enricovids

@@dabbleandtravel Interesting, I guess it varies. Market tours I've been in or seen, they take you to various stalls and you get samples (I think there is an arrangement between the tour company and the stalls). I'm sure the stall owners want the participants to come back and buy if they like the samples. Kind of like a food tour. Ofcourse there are some stalls that just always hand out samples to anyone.
