They release the none mate at start of year and October they release the mate version (basically 6 months between mate and none mate phone)

We are looking forward for the Mate 30 Pro. Hopefully it will have the best from both worlds.

That would be awesome if it did but i doubt it will. For some reason these phone manufacturers won't make that device. They seem to include just a couple of popular items in each phone (releasing 6 phone a year) to widen their customer base. I tried to find a phone that had a 2k screen, IP68, 4000+ battery, 25+ mgp camera running a 7nm processor... The Mate 20 Pro checked more of the boxes so that's the one I bought. FYI, if your a Sony fan (and I'm not) they are introducing a 4K camera that make call in June.

Mate 20 all day. Better screen, the face unlock is so rapid I never use the fingerprint sensor, the camera is still awesome, front firing speakers and I hardly use 5x zoom nvm 10x.

Remember that while the Mate has better Face ID, the P30p has a better fingerprint scanner. The differences between 1080p and 1440p are minimal on such a small screen, some only notice it when they stick their nose to the screen. 1080p also means better battery life. And, I would argue that the speakers on the P30p are louder and just as clear as the Mate. The audio recording is wayyyy better on the P30p.

@@magnuslikestanks6044 The screen should have been a 1440p panel. I don't like the "you don't need it" apple approach to things. That's why I have android phones I want maximum bang for buck on a flagship. Do you own a p30 Pro? And did you have a mate 20 Pro. I'd assume being a bottom firing speaker only it wouldn't be as clear. Comparing this to my old s8, lg v30 which had single firing speakers sucked. I'd never want to lose the front firing speaker now.

JDM CJM I have both. Camera on p30 better. Low light better. Zoom massively better. If it’s for photos then p30. Easily.

this is the none mate version (this phone supersedes 20 pro witch also has a 1080p screen, not the mate 20 pro) the mate 30 pro is out in October witch is the phone you should be comparing to the mate 20 pro (it have a 1440p screen) A all reviewers are comparing it to the mate 20 pro when it should be the 20 Pro (non mate version) They release the none mate around now and October they release the mate version

I just bought the Mate 20 Pro. The P30's features aren't nearly enough to pull me away from my Mate 20 Pro. The Mate 20 Pro will still be comperable for another couple of phone generation. I think in a lot of ways the P30 has gone backwards.

I bought a rubberized case for it just for this scenario though I haven't had the misfortune of finding out how well the case protects the phone. I can tell you this phone is the best phone I've owned and it takes AMAZING pictures.

To be honest, although Mate 20 pro have more features than P30 pro, lots of Mate 20 pro features are gimmicky and not very useful in day to day life.

@@DrDre9998282 No more gimmicky than the new Samsungs. I like the Mate 20 Pro much better though. The camera features alone is worth the price you pay. I'm not bashing Samsung (there are three of those in my house). So I have direct comparison and the Mate 20 Pro is better in every way.

I will buy P30 Pro for one reason: to take nice photos for my vacation this summer.

I found the P20 mate pro knocks the socks off my S10+ in terms of taking decent photos. You also don't get bixby rammed down your throat at every turn (which is a nice bonus!). There's some bloatware to remove from the P20 (guessing similar on the P30), but, nowehere as near as on the samsung (and you can actually remove most of it on the P20 easily enough). I've tried to use the S10+ twice since using my P20 pro, and keep going back to the P20

For me the sound is the biggest difference, but I own the mate 20 now so just gonna have to accept it although really wish I had the p30 just for the louder speaker

Does the P30 pro improvements justify its difference in price? In my region the P30 pro costs ~200usd more. Having a better zoom, 2gb more ram and 128gb more storage, while at the same time losing a qhd screen and secure face unlock, does the price increase make sense to you? I got both of those and I took the mate 20 pro with me and my wife on vacation and I know I would of had great pics and vids with the p30 pro but the mate 20 pro along with a S10+ and a iPhone 8 everybody liked the Pics and normal video we took with the mate 20 pro I love this phone I'm in the states I'm in New York oh we went to California for vacation, but I still haven't got the 9.1 update yet, any idea when. Thanks

Golan lavi battery life is poor, charging times slow , ok google doesn’t work , pairing with a gear s3 is harder than it should be , the camera renders nice images in the day but is full of over sharpening in the jpegs , raws are great but you need to obviously edit the shots , night time shots in auto like to default iso 6400and 1/33s and using pro mode you will need a tripod to get the best out of it , depth mapping is hit and miss with most of the time it being a miss , no expandable storage , rubbish fingerprint reader It’s a great idea , very poorly executed with lots of bugs and poor battery life and slow charging speeds mean your better off with something else To top it off Nokia take one week to answer emails about the phone , I’m going ack to my mate 20 pro ✌️

I don't have any of them and going to buy one. But i really confused, and i need your suggestion guys. Which one? Mate 20 pro which is almost same and cheaper or P30 pro with updated camera? And is it coast that difference on price?

I bought my mate 20 pro two weeks before P30 pro was released. I tested P30 pro that friend of mine got these days and yeah it is great camera phone but i still can't see the reason to change it for so insignificant difference. The choice is all yours. Both phones are a faster and great design. Go and get wich you like most. I wish you many beautiful pictures with your choice :)

It's not an upgrade. I've got the mate 20 Pro and if you buy this you are downgrading in terms of screen, speakers and losing the face unlock. Apart from the 10x zoom everything else is mostly the same.

The comparison is incorrect it should be the 20 Pro (not mate) vs 30 Pro (the mate 30 pro coming later on this year around October) as it has a 1440p screen vs 1080p none mate (they do none mate around now and mate in October)

The sound on the p30 pro is much clearer.

I agree sound is better on the P30 Pro for sure. I have one sealed in box and am debating if I should go w the Mate 20 Pro for additional savings but the zoom for me will be very useful and it's 10x is lossless, remember the best camera is the one you have w you at time of shot

@@kiddcisco It isn't "lossless", it's hybrid-zoom, so part optical part digital. The 10x zoom picture quality is great, but not as great as the 5x optical zoom.

Don't like the curved screens.....crappy when typing and trying to go back on the bottom left screen and top left screen.

Watching on my Mate 20 pro. I think my only reason to switch to P30 pro will be the camera. Every other thing pretty much the same. It might even be considered a downgrade because of the lower resolution and lack of Face ID in P30 pro.

How does the mate 20 pro handles pocket drops ...? M about buy one but really confused it me be more fragile than other flagships .

In the past it made sense for power users to get the Mate lineup because of the better battery life and RAM. But now the only advantage the Mate has is the better screen resolution.

5:47 as someone who got his first cellphone in 1999, hearing "moving very fast" today sounds wrong to me when you compare it with what happend from 1999 up to 2009. compared to the last 10 years. i went through 15 phones from 1999 to 2011 but from 2011 to now i only had 3. the running revolution train is gone, its just improvements now or using different tech to do the same thing in a different position. its hard to see a 4k display as something spectacular compared to a 1440 when you were there and experienced the step from monochrom displays to color displays.

Not really, it looks wrong to you but sorry, you are not center of the world. In my cause I had only 4 phones from 2000 to 2014 and I am already looking for 3rd from 2014 to 2019, yet I know people who switch phone every 1-2 years. You can even see many comments of people saying, yee I will switch my Lg4 for Lg5 and Iphone4 for Iphone5, etc.. The phrase "Moving very fast" is wrong from both ways, each of us is different and can apply their own perspective.

I got a p20 pro a few weeks back. Was interested in the p30 but the guy at the shop said that the p20 pro is the better phone. Said the cameras on it are better quality apparently the p30 only shoots in 24 megapixels compared to the 40 megapixels on the p20 pro.

Note there is mate and non mate version (the mate is the premium phone with 1440p,, the none mate is cheaper version and has a 1080p screen)

P30 Pro actually cheaper than Mate 20 Pro. P30P 8/256 (+ GT Watch!) = M20P 6/128.

this is not the mate 30 pro (that be in October) the 30 pro is replacement for the 20 Pro (not mate 20 pro) All reviewers are comparing the P30 pro to the mate 20 pro when it should be the 20 Pro (non mate version) this company releases a phone every 6 months flipping between the mate and none mate version in October (mate) and march/April (none mate version )

Well the Canon is obviously going to be better for some things. But you'll need to buy lenses, and it won't record 4k video, that being said the 1080p probably looks nicer than a phone's 4k
