The video stabilisation is much better for p30. Why do you say Canon is better? The colour of Canon is not better. It's up to the individual taste. Overall, P30 is a winner in my book!

yep, smaller sensors will usually have a big head start when it comes to stabilization. That is one of the things nobody ever mentions when it comes to "quality".

I'm so conflicted with this video. Some of the shots looked miles better on the P30 Pro, but you're saying it wasn't as good or as natural. Like the last segment, the P30 Pro looks better, but you say it doesn't. Preference seems mostly subjective, but the stabilization and versatility of the P30 Pro really seems so much better than the Canon if vlogging is the goal. That doesn't even include how much easier it is to upload, backup, share images and videos from the P30 Pro vs the Canon.

It is a complete mystery why more cloggers aren't using phones. It is 98% about the personality anyway. They think they are little stanley kubricks or something, many of the guys even call themselves "filmmakers", as if there is something wrong with being a "youtuber".

You should have used Night Mode when taking pictures in low light. Just saying

Thanks for this comparison video. Since the Huawei launched the P20 Pro I forgot that I own a Canon DSLR camera. You have said it correctly it is much more convenient when shooting with a smartphone like the Huawei P20 and P30 Pro. The weight of a DSLR and the accessories that you need to set up and change lenses all the time is really time wasting. The good news is that they are capable of doing a 4k video which is great for Vloggers and the built-in image stabilization is perfect on both Huawei P series. I know that it is not very far the DSLR products will soon vanish and it already started due to the birth of the new smartphones.

Thank you for iterating that at the very least, the zoom can be useful, and at most is quite great. A lot of people just disregard it as simply gimmicky, especially without them talking about zoom in video. On my Honor 8 phone, zoom in video mode is just plain bad, so I find the P30 Pro's zoom feature great. What I don't understand though is why Huawei took away the Pro Video mode in the camera app, where white balance could be easily changed.

Huawei shoots excellent video stabilization, and the latest update EMUI9.1.0.153 ROM until it can take a video. 2-screen video, fixed-screen, one-time zoom up to 15x

v interesting comparison. Also good editing quality. Fyi, some people have received emui update which enables "dual view" video-recording mode, and I watched some of their uploaded short videos. It seems dv mode utilizes only back cameras, not sure if it can utilize back and front cameras at the same time. It might be a handy feature for vloggers. Btw I'm not a huawei user, nor I do vlog.

With *Nokia 9 PureView* you can record or even go live with front and back camera at the same time! You can have it side by side or picture in picture and you can drag where you want it. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mJqXs7uzaLTFetI.html

can you do xt30 vs p30 just for the stills? btw very interesting video dude. that p30 is a beast though I still would've prefer a proper camera for taking picture of my hyper active kids. just saying though.

Yeah P30 is good for a phone but the look you get from a camera is so much richer

I can see you're using the smooth color mode, you should try the normal color mode on p30 pro, it looks way more natural.

In bright condition, any device could capture FHD video or photo will preform at its best. Mobile phone camera will out perform bigger sensor camera in term og stabilization due to its small sensor so that there is enough power to process digitally. This is the reason most 4/3 sensor cameras have better stabilization than APSC and Full Frame. For everyday usage in a run and fun, I'd go with mobile phone footage like S10+. Yet, bigger sensor will outperform smaller sensor camera in low light, sharpness and grading capability. It's not mean to replace one another. It's a great combination to have both for sudden capture or unexpected moment to have mobile camera on hand. And, for better image quality, use bigger sensor camera as much as possible. Well, if I have to choose one, subjectively, i'd go with proper camera. Yet, the best camera in the world is the one you have. Whatever camera you have it doesn't matter as long as it can capture your moment and memory or telling a good story to others.

OMG I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS! Been thinking lately to purchase M50 but this video makes me think twice because of stabilization issue.

So wait, was he using the selfie camera most of the time or was it the back camera?

i honestly would rather watch a vlog with a hero 7, stabilization is more important than colours, bokeh and image quality in my opinion

I have one and i started vlogging but i would love to have an external monitor so i can use the back camera and i need a mic and a gimbal

These types of videos comes with every flagship phone release.

Huawei = wide angle, very stable no shaking at all, fantastic zoom and night king, drawback is color in daytime is saturated may not look natrual.

He probably said stabilization looks better on the M50 cause you don't really see the stabilization whilst filming on P30 Pro only once you play the finished video file?

The color of the subject from canon m50 is closer to the actual real life color than the pro 30. The color of the shots from pro 30 looks more brown and the green is lighter in color that's why he said it looks fake. It's just a bit off from the actual color.

This was on landscape colour profile, as the M50 only does 8bit colour at average bit-rates I think log isn’t worth the hassle (also I’m bad a colour grading) 😂

I have dumped my Canon camera for Huawei P30 Pro for my coming trip to Europe, why bother a cumbersome camera when the handphone is so convenient and good? I seldom see people using camera these days, it looks weird to hold one

I just dumped my P30 Pro after it's first trip and considering to buy a Sony RX100 VA. The P30 Pro camera has it's merits but the more I look at the pictures from that trip, the more disappointed I feel. It's also not an upgrade to my Mate 9 Pro. In many ways it's the contrary compared to this two year old phone.

I went from a Sony RX100 mark 3 to a Huawei P20 pro and only had that for the holiday. It's great but has its limits especially the artificial greens and skin tones. This summer I'll buy an Fujifilm X-E3 for superior foto's in true colours. My P20 pro will still be in my pocket day to day.

Now stick a decent lens on that M50 with an adaptor and you'll show the true capabilities of the M50 lol

My favorite part by FAR was when you actually got a clip of yourself stopping to change lenses. It is almost a joke if you think about it... press the screen on a phone VS stop everything, open the bag, fumble with the lenses, nowhere to put them, what about the fucking lens caps, ok i finally got the lens on, don't forget the other lens, don't lay it in the dirt lol

P30 is bad vlog vlogging trust me, i use p20 pro. Cant even do good slowmotion for 1080p as the exposure is bad. The p30 pro 4k wide is also flickering

I was disappointed with the P30 Pro. Just took it to it's first trip. Master AI horribly oversaturates the photos and without it they often have very strange colors with reddish tint. 5x zoom was useful but I couldn't get enough sharp pictures. I would find a shorter optical zoom much more useful, maybe around 70mm equivalent. The fact that it's fixed is also a big limitation. The hybrid zoom pictures under 5x suffers from many color and quality issues. Video was well stabilized but the quality was rubbish, especially at wide angle and zoomed the quality was unusable. The only impressive camera was the wide angle. It produces excellent colours and the angle is very useful in many situations. I bought the phone to replace my fantastic Mate 9 Pro whose battery is about to explode I'm afraid. In a few decisive ways the P30 Pro is inferior. The display and fingerprint reader being the worst. Coming from Mate 9 Pro's QHD AMOLED display, the P30 Pro is botheringly blurry. The fingerprint reader is slow and very unreliable compared to the two year old Mate 9 Pro. Otherwise it's an excellent phone but I'll wait for the Mate 30 Pro and hope it will address these issues. Huawei's quality and performance will keep me their customer and the wait will hopefully be worth it. I'm also considering to buy a Sony RX100 for a travel camera as the picture quality is just not good enough on smartphones yet.

p30 wins. not even close.

Tbh the video recording on the P30 pro is really bad compaired to the competition. Low bitrate, jitter, brightness flicker and stutter during motion. The kirin soc cant handle it at 4K either and all above issues are exposed. I would not use it for vlogging ever, if thats a main use a galaxy S10 will blow the P30 and the canon away for vlogging. The pictures u can shoot with P30 are a different story tho, really like those and that zoom is just amazing. But yeah, if u own a P30 u can use it for vlogging but when looking for a new phonecamera with videorecording in mind i would skip it for sure.

Huawei have worst video ever e.e all know that.. they only have the best zoom and best night shots. nothing more. U want good video and sound. chose a HTC or LG V series e.e best mic's on the smartphones and quality.

The phone looks fake, pumped up animation like images. I don’t like them.

Canon is way much better

The P30 video is garbage and the camera is mediocre. It cant replace a canon. Not even close. Now the S10 probably can or the XS Max. The P30 pro dynamic range is garbage.
