I don't know Hozier personally but he really doesn't know how brilliant he is as a lyricist and musician. He is, by far, one of the Superior writers and music makers of today. I only hope he keeps putting his mark on this world with his gorgeous songs and music , along with the musicians he has currently working with him on his tours. They are incredible as a little collective on stage. Hozier needs to accept that he is fantastic. His live shows are better than most. I saw him in Belfast in Dec 2023 and seeing De Selby performed was....WOW........Amazing and beautiful.

What a fantastic interview. I’m a long time fan and I’ve noticed that he seems so much more confident and at ease in interviews and shows this time around than during former tours. Now I know why. What you should tell yourself is that you have created something, even if it doesn’t sell. How many people can truly say that? Probably not one in every ten thousand. Who knows? Nick Drake was like the Van Gogh of music - he only became famous years after his death. Having said that, I wish you the best and hope that you get to enjoy the fruits of your labour. The point being is if it’s down, you never know when it will touch people. Herman Melville’s book, originally The Whale, became famous about 60 or 70 years later, at around the end of the First World War, nearly thirty years after his death, as Moby Dick Get it down first.

I could not agree more with Hozier on the points he makes about being in step with yourself, speaking kindly to yourself or bringing your inner child with you to see how far you've come. It's beautiful.
Credit to his Quaker exposure - the calmness of the practice and waiting for the impulse to communicate…he’s not even at his peak yet. Live concert is peak experience
He's so loved... He reaches across so many boundaries and he's such a quality talent, yet so young.
I have loved Hozier since TMTC came out. I was a teen back then. Being able to connect to his music as I got older and to learn the meanings behind it and to see this interview only strengthened the love I have for his music and him as a person. Thank you for such a wonderful video and interview.

The best part about Hozier is he is true to himself while making his art. Why release music that isn't expressive of who you are at the core?? He makes music for a very specific ear and I am so here for it. And he is cool with that. And he's just one of the best artists and singer/songwriters all around. He's down to earth and so vulnerable. Saying he doesn't really need external validation goes to show that he is so humble. I love him. I can't help it.
I got in touch with my inner child when I turned 30 too. My 30s have been the most mentally peaceful time of my life. I have BPD and I spent the majority of my life up to 30 crying in despair and trying to end my life. But something changed at 30. It's a great decade for self reflection and self realisation.
As an artist I can say that the best paintings come together so fast. It’s called being in the flow. I am comfortable with that now but at first I wasn’t.
He made a joke about "I need to phone a friend" & I guess it didn't land on the interviewer. Cause I didn't hear any laughter. But we did Hozier. We laughed. & we love you for your authenticity & your kindness. ❤
he is so humble ...love that he doesn't feed into all the "noise " around him, we can all learn from that , at any age ... what a great episode ❤ thanks Lewis, keep up the inspiring work and great guests ❤ Great interview, thoughtful questions

Really loved this whole interview and the emotionally intelligent interviewer, I'm really impressed. One of the best things about being around the same age as Hozier is that his music really does have emotional truth that packs a timely punch. There are lots of great moments in this interview, but I think the ones that I most vibe with is the purpose of art and the artist - healing, solidarity, and being the hand the squeezes before a catastrophe. I suppose another surprising moment was the discussion about sound being an even more fundamental perception than sight.

That you're feeling like you're at war with yourself. It's important to remember that we all have moments of self-doubt and internal struggles. But it's also important to practice self-compassion and remind yourself that you're doing the best you can. Take some time for self-reflection, focus on your strengths, and remember that personal growth is a journey. You're not alone, and I believe in your ability to overcome any challenges you may be facing. Keep pushing forward and be kind to yourself along the way.
What an amazing conversation. These conversations are so important for people who don’t have the space to talk this deeply. That’s why podcasts are changing the world for the better.

Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you Andrew for allowing yourself to be vulnerable in this interview that was way more introspective than the ones maybe you are used to. You managed it so well! and we could see more of the human creative process. You are putting out there great art that I assure you is connecting so much that even places with english as not their first language are singing word by word and louder (Mexican fan here 🇲🇽🩷) Also the confidence brought to the table by Lewis, amazing!
Man, what an interview. Lewis, you asked amazing questions and really engaged Hozier on a level that allowed us all to connect to him and to ourselves. It’s a gift to be inquisitive while allowing your guest to feel comfortable opening up and being their true self in front of you. Well done. I truly enjoyed this.

A thoughtful interviewer interviews a thoughtful musician and the result is a gem! It felt like a perfect teamwork of digging deep, being authentic and revealing what truly lies within. Hozier has always been wonderful at interviews, but you, Lewis, really brought out the best of him. The three lessons in the end was where I cried. Watching this interview was a spiritual experience for me. Thank both of you!
