Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine kzread.infoUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.
Been a Matthew's guy my whole life, don't see myself changing anytime soon. The stealth advantage is the biggest one for me, I tune my bows and practice relentlessly so I'm not as worried about my form or grip being off. Once I have the feel of the bow committed to muscle memory, I trust myself to hold true. But that feeling when a silent stick slips through a deer at 40 yards before it realizes it was even on the way, that is what it's all about for me. I really enjoyed the review!

I’m with you but curious to try Hoyt . I did years ago while looking for a lighter hiking bow but upon firing it’s like holding a explosion. Not a big deal for one shot but 50 shots a day wouldn’t be fun. Something different for everyone. Bows don’t matter it’s the hobby that does matter .

They are both amazing bows, he had to dig deep to give the edge to the Hoyt and I’m sure his personal bias paid a part.. either way if you can shoot almost any new mid to top tier bow is going to be fantastic..
Glad to see more people actually caring to have opinions and less sponsorship bs in the industry. Great video, super thorough about it

Oh I guarantee there’s a relationship with Hoyt in some way still.. Not saying he’s dishonest and not saying I think there is anything wrong with that but he had to dig deep to find a reason to give it to Hoyt .. both bows are exceptional Hoyt’s are just so bad on hand shock..
One of the best bow reviews ever! You dug down deep for this one. Keep up the good work.

Considering they’re both different length ATA is probably why the hoyt torque tuned at your DL. You should get the traverse or atlas and do that test
This video was extremely helpful. I’m 11 and I have a diamond edge. I just picked up my first nice hunting jacket which was a Sitka fanatic hoody. Your videos inspire to hunt white tails with a bow. Thanks Josh for all the good videos

Very thorough review! Thank you for putting in the time. Much appreciated.
Smooth draw and shot is why I love Hoyt. Never could get my Switchback XT to shoot as well as my old Hoyt Magnatech.
I would be so happy to own either one of these bows, I’m currently using a PSE Stinger and it’s not the fanciest bow but it’s a decent one that doesn’t break the bank. One day I’ll probably do something crazy and buy a Hoyt but.... that won’t be for a while. Great video!
Love the depth of the comparison! So much valuable information!
Thanks for all your help in the archery industry. Very happy with all your advice and help.

Best bow comparison I've ever seen. You were thorough and very detailed. And you nailed all the key points that mattered for a bow HUNTER! I could care less about those paper shooters. I practice religiously with my bow and still be off my mark when shooting a giant buck. It's just the adrenaline, the cold, the nerves, maybe I'm rushing it, or the bucks taking forever to step out, everything that can go wrong WILL go wrong and the bow still needs to shoot lights out for me. Very easy to understand why the Hoyt was more forgiving. The Axius Ultra is a 34" ATA bow with a 6 3/4" BH. This bow lends itself to be forgiving, especially for a long draw archer. These are also some of the reasons the VXR is so much faster.
@ctfishing2021
3 жыл бұрын
I wonder how the Axius would stack up to one of Mathews longer bows like the Traverse with a 33”ATA and 6.625” BH. Thats the bow I went with because many with longer draw lengths preferred it over the VXR and Vertix.
@TD2821
3 жыл бұрын
@@ctfishing2021 The Traverse is a great bow. Possibly the best hunting bow Mathews has ever put out, IMO. I figure Bomar chose the VXR due to switch weight capability and the ability to get 75+lb.

I wonder if the spongy back wall in the hoyt might be a result of the mods being in two separate positions. That may cause the cable tensions to vary more than they normally would which could result in a less rigid back wall. Despite that I still think the mathews has the better back wall.

I have never heard of the issue that he had with having to run the arrow nock high. I think he just didn't have his cams timed because I've tuned 100+ Hoyt's this year and all of them were running on the middle of string, dead level, all bullet holes.
