Hoya lacunosa | 30 Days of Hoya - 14 of 30

Hello Hoya friends! Today we have a very popular Hoya - Hoya lacunosa. This is an easy Hoya to take care of, but I just couldn't skip it. It's truly a lovely Hoya to have and it's not challenging at all so I think it's a great plant for beginners - that is, if you are careful with watering. There are some neat cultivars with silver leaves out there and even though I said I am not going to collect anymore cultivars, I just MIGHT pick up H. lacunosa with silver leaves. As always, you will find a sheet with additional information in the description below. I will see you in another #30DaysofHoya video.

Thanks for this video. I just picked one of these up at Home Depot. It is soaking wet...I think I’ll try repotting it tomorrow.

I hope you had a good repotting! I try to repot them as soon as possible because usually the mix is wrong.

I’d love to know this, too. Mine is in leca. I got it as water propagations and was going away for 2 weeks so felt like it was safest in leca. That was in April or May. So far it’s doing great, but I don’t know if I should leave it or move it to soil.

@@BasiePlants, why is it so many growers use totally inappropriate media?? It leads to rot and frustration. People who are newer to houseplants don't realize the soil is too "peaty" and have poor results. I have seen this in Hoyas, orchids and succulents. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@@laurachapin204 I think it works for them in nurseries because they have automatic systems and it's also very cheap :/
