    Bless you, bless you, bless you for making this video! I wrote them all down and will try to get at least one when I have the money. I’m new to Hoyas. I love your hair. It looks so soft! I’m drawn to the Flagellata because of the fuzziness on the blooms. Also the Burmanica because of the small angel wing leaves. Thanks.

    I hope you can find them! I have seen more of these become available in the States, but I am sure if you can find a collector there, you can get them easily and for cheap. These are all under $20 or close to. I only have few that are a bit pricier. We will get there one day :D

    I've got a hoya ilagiorum and you're right. It bloomed almost immediately after it arrived. Others that have bloomed quickly for me: Hoya bella and Hoya retusa. All three within a few weeks of bringing them into my home.

    Looking forward to your next hoya haul and wishlist video! My Dad has huge west facing windows and keeps hoyas I gifted him on the dining room table a few feet away. This past November, his hoya nummularoides bloomed for several weeks! Shortly afterwards, his clusia bloomed as well. He waters all his plants once or twice a week on schedule and leaves them alone. I have a small hoya mathilde that came with a peduncle in November. This past month, she had 4 peduncles but three had blooms "blast". It's been chaotic weather here in NYC with huge temperature swings so I'm just going to enjoy the new growth on all my hoyas and be pleasantly surprised if any blooms occur. **a tiny hoya sunrise was dormant for two years until I switched substrate to DIY pon and it grew a leaf in weeks....

    Wishlist video is coming soon! I also have nummularioides but I have not seen it bloom yet. It's been 4-5 months or so. I hope I can get it to bloom soon! Yeah, my watering has been all over the place, both time-wise and... well, space-wise. I am sometimes in such a rush that I get water everywhere 😂

    Thank you so much for this. One of the first plants I got was a Hoya sp aff burtoniae (labeled as bilobata ds-70 at my local Lowe’s hardware). I was so excited to see it bloom within a few months with it’s sweet aroma. It has a special place in my heart for starting my love of Hoyas. I saw a big full pot of carnosa queen a few months ago and I thought it looked pretty mature and healthy. It has 3 peduncles right now! 🤯 I’m so excited! I had one for almost 3 years previously with not 1 flower. This is really so helpful and I’m definitely adding flagellata, Patricia, and maybe a few more to my list.

    First bloomer: elmeri Early bloomers: cutis porcelana (always in bloom), corneri, polyneura(!), rangsan, elmeri, lasiantha/praetorii, campanulata, mappigera. I'm in SEA - polyneura needs a lot of everything (sun, water, humidity, ferts) to flower - but once conditions are met, flowers frequently. Frequent bloomers: UT247, icensis-023, corneri, cutis porcelana, polyneura, lasiantha Would love to obtain a burmanica like yours, but the ones available here seem to be from Vietnam (and from seed) and have leaves that are more like pandurata - longer and uniform width. Believe it or not, a carnosa "stardust" (just a sparsely speckled carnosa) from a Chinese source produced a peduncle that unfortunately blasted, within 2 months of receiving it. The plant is about 1m long.

    Thanks, Miro for fun, informative video on easy to bloom hoyas. I have the ilagiorum (purchased 7/2021) no blooms yet, can’t wait to see if it has yellow or red flowers! I also have the subquintuplinervis (bought as a “pachyclada”) in 9/2021 that has not bloomed yet, had a devil of a time trying to make a back up propagation, just a one leaf propagation has survived so far. Ordered plant online and came with mostly broken leaves, sad because the leaves should be so thick and lovely, I’ll just have to wait. Made a note of the other quick bloomers and hope to find at least one in my price range in 2022. Liked the Lockii best! I bought a small nummularoides in 7/2021, had 3 peduncles by September and bloomed beautifully by October.

    Rewatching this video. I think Hoya Caudata likes some direct sun. I moved and placed both my Caudatas (one around 1 year old, the other a cutting that has been growing a few months now) on a window sill that gets direct morning sun for a couple of hours. The big Caudata has not stopped blooming every since the move. It is rebudding right away as soon as the flowers drop and is also producing new peduncles. Even the cutting has started to form a peduncle. Unlike what folk on youtube say my Caudata does not close the flowers during the day 🤷‍♀️ Last blossoms stayed open for 4 nights and 3 days straight, before they closed up and fell off.

    OK honestly my memoria is probably the Hoya I neglect the most :D she is in a hanging pot that’s way too small for her, in an east/ northeast facing window, I hardly ever water her and when I do I just give her a shower - she’s never even had fertilizer. Maybe she’s just scared of dying all the time and that’s why she produces so many flowers? I’ve had this plant since mid 2019 and I’m planning to finally repot her this spring. Lets see how she’ll handle me taking good care of her :D

And the Ilagiorum, which my experience with it was completely different, it's a difficult sensitive hoya, at least where I live, several growers lost it... And it never bloomed for any of them... 🙂 The Multiflora is still new here... How do you make a leafless stem grow them? Could you share in what conditions do you keep it? I have a red imperialis I recently got, which didn't react well, and lost it's leaves...

    Half of them are not available in Australia yet :-(. I really like the orange multiflora. I don’t think it’s available here either. Lokii is definitely number one on my wish list (not in aus yet). That begonia hoya would be my favourite out of that bunch. It looks like Vietnamese mint. I think you need to include Mathilde, lacunosa, Serpens, sweat heart (not kerrii), chouke, Bella, heuschkeliana, Lacunosa is the first one I have it grow a peduncle and bloom. Carnosa, Pubicalyx, Australia are not easy to flower at all. Hm my multiflora & Bella keep dropping padanca ( peduncles). I might try to water them more. I just got an ilagorium last week. I am so happy to learn they are easy to flower. My obovata is putting out peduncles. It was a big plant when I bought it back in April last year so that might not count. Actually I will try to get a kanyakumarianna soon now I know it is easy to flower. I have a Rebecca. That could be easy to flower because of lacunosa. Sunrise should be easy to flower I think. • @BasiePlants

    @BasiePlants

    Жыл бұрын

    Most of the plants in cultivation today that we call pubicalyx (and that have splashy leaves) are crosses and not true to the original publication of the species. Sadly, the holotype of this species was destroyed in the bombing of Phillipine herbarium in WWII so it is lost to us. There are words that there are isotypes (copies) in herbaria around the world, and if these are found, then that could clear up this species and one of these could be selected to serve as the new lectotype of the species. It is very likely that the plant we know today under the name Hoya pubicorolla ssp. anthracina is in fact the original pubicalyx, but that has not been cleared up as of yet. When and if that does get cleared up, you can change the tag on your plant (and then it will probably be labeled as some cross...) but until that moment happens, you can keep the tag on your plant (and this information is perhaps something more additional to know) :)
