I think Howard Stern is such a great interviewer because he is genuinely fascinated by the people he is interviewing. He asks deep probing questions and there asked with a lot of enthusiasm.

he always dominates the 1 on 1, even on other people's show.

His legacy will be the 2nd Act of his life, not his early stuff, because he has come out and like here openly admitted he was "wrong" in some aspects, that he wishes he hadn't done some of the stuff and written some of his earlier books, he admits he was selfish and he was angry at the world and therapy helped him see through that and get over it. He is a great interviewer, but at one point he was asking too many questions where he would ask a question, the person would try to answer it, and then in the middle of it he would all of a sudden interrupt with 2 -3 more questions and interject something about himself, then when they tried to answer those questions he would again interrupt with another question, interject something, and it was so frustrating.

Katie is just gorgeous!

Nah "fifty kroner" (AWESOME name/Puddy reference btw haha). Letterman has been an in studio guest of Howards two separate times. Once in the mid nineties and once in the Artie era, before Satellite. In fact I believe the second visit was on Howard's 50th bday. He may have called in other times, but I think mostly Letterman calls were Evil Dave haha.

There is a vast difference between the tenor of the interviews that Howard Stern conducted ten to fifteen years ago on his show and the more recent interviews with Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Jim Carrey, Ben Stiller, Tony Bennett, David Letterman, Jerry Seinfeld, Katie Couric, Neil Young, Joan Rivers, et al. Stern feels less compelled to be "in character" as the champion of sexual liberation and raunchy behavior, and he is more reflective and thoughtful-he has acknowledged this on his Sirius show, to which I am a devoted listener. The show still pushes the boundaries of good taste, but that is by design, as Stern doesn't want to alienate his core listeners.
