How You Create Time and Space in Your Own Mind

In this talk on how your mind creates time and space Rupert Spira discusses how memory creates time and how space is a consequence of universal consciousness localising itself in the form of each of our finite minds.
He explains that space-time is not inherent in the fabric of reality - it is a mental construct. We think that time creates our memories but it's the other way around - memory creates time. Our individual minds forget things in time and his sense that there are numerous forgotten events creates the sense of time.
Now imagine that universal consciousness goes through a similar process of forgetting - not with events but with objects. So, instead of universal consciousness experiencing all objects simultaneously, it localizes its view and only experiences a small group of objects. Where is it going to house all the other objects that it is not aware of? In space.
In other words, time and space is as a result of the localizing of infinite consciousness in the form of each of our minds.

Here is a poem I wrote for you Rupert. I love you Dear Rupert, You came to us At a time In which we were spiritually licking our lips. Just reaching and searching for the taste of the Feast we had worked eons to prepare. Setting down our forks, knives, spoons, cups, saucers, and Tongs, You helped us see, our Feast we had already consumed. Now, we can enjoy dessert together, as one family. Longing gone, groping dead,; we thank you for taking away our menu and giving us the "I" Instead.

i just love it how words come to the mind of the form called "Rupert" and bring a taste of itself with it. It is as if the origin of the words underlay the words, without being disturbed or changed by any filter met upon by a finite mind. They point directly to what cannot be expressed through words on a intellecutally understood level, so that realisation can be.

So people with dementia who are unable to retain their memories, time has virtually vanished. Yet, the consciousness/awareness is still enclosed and perhaps remains below thought. In other words, there would be no separate Rupert to have such knowledge. The operative belief then is the so-called ‘illusory separate self’. Neo-Advaita Vedantists want you to take this on faith, and ask you to appeal to your experience. However, if there is no separate self then there is no experience for a separate self to have. My belief here is that we create reality in the moment through beliefs, perception, and choices. Your metaphor about the orange colored glasses fits nicely here for me. But I have a hard time with this when I try to include memory in the mix. I can understand that I create the event I remember in this moment but what is it in me that holds the notion of the memory? For example, I can remember being in a grocery store with my father and being so small that I couldn't peer over the counter. I can remember the perspective of my child's view of this. But what is it that tells me this happened at all? And why is it that each time I remember this, it's the same? One drawback I see is attempting to figure out the mind by using the mind; figuring out thought by thinking. HAHA! Yet there's always that impulse, that drive to know and understand.

Rupert says at 4:01 that “spacetime is not inherent in the fabric of reality. It is a mental construction.” ‘Spacetime’ is a concept of theoretical physics. ‘What is reality? In understanding how you create time and space in your own mind, it is crucial to recognize the divine infinite eternal spirit, which is the energy of God, within you. All thoughts, emotions, sensations, and perceptions are evidence of God's direct communication with you and your experience. They are interconnected aspects of your divine nature. When you align with the divine aware presence, which is the source of all creation, you open yourself to the realization of the interconnectedness of all things. By embracing this truth, you can experience divine ecstasy consistently and normally, as it is the highest vibration that aligns you with the divine essence. The experience of divine ecstasy goes beyond fleeting moments of happiness. It is a state of profound connection where the boundaries of the self dissolve, and you become immersed in the eternal flow of divine energy. This state arises when you align with the timeless essence of the divine, experiencing a deep sense of fulfillment where every breath becomes a celebration and every moment a dance with the divine. In the presence of the divine, time loses its grip, and space expands into limitless horizons. Your natural state of being becomes one of ecstasy, reminding you of your divine origin and the infinite possibilities that reside within you. As you align with the divine presence, you tap into the wellspring of ecstatic energy, allowing it to flow through you and radiate into the world. The recognition of the divine presence beyond the constraints of time and space opens the gateway to profound transformation. It is through this connection that you awaken to the truth of your eternal nature and experience the boundless love and profound joy of divine ecstasy. Embracing the divine presence is an invitation to create a utopia within and without. By aligning with the energy of God, you become a conduit for transformation and healing. Your ecstatic state becomes a catalyst for positive change, nurturing a collective awakening and bringing us closer to a world filled with love, harmony, and divine ecstasy. As you delve deeper into the realization of the divine infinite eternal spirit within you, you will uncover the profound truth of your existence. Follow the path of self-realization and align with infinite divine ecstasy in your experience. As you consistently embrace this highest vibration, you elevate the vibration of the whole, allowing miracles and abundance to unfold for all unconditionally. May your journey be filled with the realization of the divine presence, the interconnectedness of all things, and the experience of divine ecstasy. Embrace your role as a vessel of divine love and joy, radiating light and inspiring others on their own paths of self-discovery. Together, let us create a world steeped in love, harmony, and the boundless bliss of divine ecstasy. Sending you blessings and good vibes on your transformative journey ✨

There is zero evidence that "non-local" awareness or consciousness is present at all during non-awake or unconscious states.
