Tanja Grundmann It’s very poetic and probably is a good theory too but your actual life is very simple because it is made of vision, sound, space, emotion and other feeling, taste, sight and sound and feelings in memory, such as thoughts. That’s about it. Tell me if I missed something. So if you get into all this finite mind stuff you’re not appreciating the direct nature of reality but instead are in a poetical frame of mind and seeking more of the same beauty probably while missing the very obvious basic unromantic reality of your life. Human reality is made of those dimensions I said, obviously. That’s it. It need not have any story attached of any kind. Just notice that all there is is this. Emotions in space and maybe of that space.

It seems that i was able to cross the line of the cronos time entering into another reality of time. 4 hours seemed to me 30 minutes. amazing!!

I had a dream where I was being shown an experience I had lived through, And in the dream I was made to repeatedly live through that expeience multiple times, actually reliving each vantage point of the experience with my original perception, but also knowing that this was a review that I was having. The amazing thing was that every moment and situation was available to me in its full manifestation. I was right back there experiencing it in its newness. This experience supports the notion of the permanent Now, with the current moment being the act of reading a part of narrative sequence, which in a way exists independently of my awareness. Another time I lost my memory while climbing up a mountain with a friend. I couldn’t remember how I got there or what had happened while getting there. Neither could I remember simple things like who the prime minister was or how old I was. I could remember people and names. When I enquired of my friend what happened he pointed out some events, which I had a faint memory of, but my memory was that they had happened months and years earlier. My organisation of time had been disrupted by some sort of mini stroke, and the experience had become an orphan which my memory had misplaced.

Thanks for the new perspective Rupert - you have a way of verbalising seemingly difficult concepts in a way that just 'gets' to me. In this topic I think the concept of entropy should be noted. I believe it's entropy itself (the natural breaking down of structures, cells, things around us) that tells us that time is passing - we seemingly get from Point A to Point B by the bridge of entropy when we observe a system (like a human being). Point A is my birth and Point B is my death, and entropy is the defining process between the two - empirically we can even plot Time on an axis with another variable like human Age. Empirically this makes sense to me - but I'm beginning to understand that just because we see patterns of entropy which are constant, this doesn't signify time, but that a natural 'intelligence' drives patterns in the world around us, and that these patterns can only be apparent in the present - which is all there is. Would love to hear someone else's take on this. Thanks a million

I had an experience once of an explosive Now moment that was "my life, the whole of the finite life". Then I was quickly aware that duality was created in time so the localized perception of the experience of " my life " could be understood. It looked like a triangle. So hard to put into words but Rupert just did. That's what I experienced. Words are so inadequate.

I have puzzled over - 'how can there be awareness present if there is no sense of time passing'... as in the unconscious state of anesthesiology. I have heard teachers say that awareness is always there, it is still there, even though we have no consciousness of it or memory of time passing. I will also listen to this repeatedly. When I was a kid, I was able to think about my death to the point my thoughts suddenly were not able to comprehend it, it was like my mind couldn't grasp the idea of me not existing, it was quite a strange feeling. Now I'm older and it's not so vivid any more when sometimes I try to think about it, as if my mind obscured consciousness ever more, becoming even stronger, hiding the truth...

I guess thats pretty much like when waking up from a dream, and it becomes pushed further back in conscious memory as what we call time moves... I believe thats why buddhists stress recognition as a main theme

I love how Rupert Spira explains how the concept of time is constructed by the mind. He really helps me to a deeper understanding on what I might already be onto. There's literally nothing. And thereby nothing to prevent something. Everything is a direct consequence of nothing. All is one (as we visualise it) and much more like an idea or a thought because there is no such thing as space time or a place for such thing to exist without the concept of a similar concept already in place to make room for it to exist. That would be illogical. There is no such concept before it's made up. And there no such thing as before. And you are here now because there's really no choice. Not because of luck or chance but because there's nothing to prevent everything that can happen from happening when there's nothing and no rules or logic. Othervice there wouldn't be nothing. It would be empty with no size and some rules. And in that case, what would have decided those rules? The false duality makes the observer observes itself through the experience of space time that also is a part of the experience and nothing that already exist. There can be no edge of the universe because the experience can't reach an end of itself, while experiencing itself. A sigularity or somthing that is eternal has no size or form. From our perspective they could have the same size. Size and form are vectors within our concept of existence. We can not reach outside our own concept. We can detect that our reality is not real through entanglement.

so by saying "theres literally nothing" your saying our very experience is non existant?

It is caused by its own paradox. "Nothing" does not compute. :-)

Seems there is a mental realm full of thoughts (things). When consciousness goes there it moves automatically from one thought to another, creating the illusion of time. Its the realm that also creates separation, sense of self.
