Always love how Stonnie breaks it down far enough to understand all of the components to the equation. As usual, I learn a ton by watching his videos!!

Always a good day when it’s a Stonnie day! We lost our first dog (black Lab of course) in 2020 and couldn’t even think about another dog. Watching Stonnie was the first dog related stuff we started doing again and now there’s another black Lab under my feet. A very nice dawg! (And nerd).

This is a great example of how the owners low forward energy influenced the dog and then as she became more confident and matter of fact the dog followed suit! So great to challenge the dog both mentally and physically. So many dogs go through life unchallenged and bored and people have no clue what their dog is capable of accomplishing. They sure don't generalize (people expect a dog that is house broken in one home to take that on the road and that is not the case) but they do learn their athletic limitations, spatial relations, confidence, trust, teamwork, etc though these exercises. Love this. Great demo.

I agree: if it’s not necessary then the dog doesn’t need to be forced.

I have been watching your videos since I got my Gus and Earl (Weimaraner/Black lab mix-- siblings) last July. They will be 15 months old next week. They are maturing nicely. Thank you for your dog training philosophy and sharing it.

I really enjoy your videos, which I watch from France. You are absolutely right to remove as much pressure as possible when teaching your dog to overcome obstacles. A word of advice though, when you put your socks on, try to take as much pressure off as possible to avoid tearing them (left foot at 7:50).😉

Another option is to show the dog it's safe by climbing over and then asking the dog to accomplish it. If I were the dog, I'd be looking at my owner and thinking "how do I know it's safe to do what you're asking of me? I've watched you walk without looking where you're going and fall down." LOL

Normally, I would agree. Suzy is about 70 years old though so that’s not an option in this case.

Hey Stonnie thanks for all videos, extremely helpful! I am getting laggoto romagnolo based on your review that helps me a lot about breed. There is one question tho, the first grass point near my house in the city is like 300meters away from us, should i try teach the dog to wait until we are on that grass? I am amateur hiker and dog will be in nature a lot, but this pee point for regular walks are too far. How to approach this 🤔

People: if your dog is no good, give it up and replace. Or, do what I did and quit dogs outright. No more dog walks. Life is too short to "train" dogs.
