Stop spreading fake news, the US will not nuke Russia for using nukes in Ukraine. Ukraine does not hold enough strategic importance to the US to risk US cities being vaporized by a Russian strike. That is the whole point of nuclear deterrence. The US therefore does not / will not face Russia in a conflict directly, only through proxies in limited means. If Russia uses nukes against a NATO state, that is a different conversation.

"Fully informed"?? The only people who might be "fully informed" (as it pertains to the US Military) are the senior Generals and Admirals in the US High Command as well as certain key individuals in the Federal Government (such as the President and Secretary of Defence). As for the rest of us (this also includes "wannabe armchair and video game experts"), all we can do is guess at best.

12 күн бұрын
@@avadhutagita3741 That we do not send many weapon systems to Ukraine for fear of them being too overpowered for Russia to hold the line against and Russia resorting to nukes makes it pretty evident that the USA alone would absolutely crush Russia. This is why we are forced to help Ukraine defend itself, otherwise Russia will next get its ass kicked by invading a NATO country and then resort to nukes out of desperation. As demonstrated by the Ukrainians, Russia is not the behemoth conventional adversary it was once believed to be. We assume though, because there exists insufficient evidence, that there is no reason to bet that Russia is no longer a nuclear adversary behemoth like no other. As far as "Why is Russia against NATO?", I suspect Russia's fear of losing the empire's hold over the 100+ conquered ethnicities and nationalistic fantasy of returning to the good old days of the USSR's power play a big role. Certainly NATO's hesitation to embrace a nation that remembers the monster Stalin as a hero plays its role too.
The real question would be the reaction of China. For that reason alone I don't think Russia would even consider using nuclear weapons. A limited response from your enemy is one. Alienating your frenemy is another can of worms.

@user-nw8zm2wu6o Nukes are not instant nationstate deleters, and we don't need every single city we have to keep going. Do you think a few nukes could cause a nuclear winter or make a wasteland or something? They can't. We've blown up thousands of those things since we invented them. You're aware that Heroshima and Nagasaki were safe to be in after a week, right? Do you think radiation works how it does in Fallout games?
@melonenlord2723
Ай бұрын
@user-nw8zm2wu6o It's even questionable how many nukes are even functional. There will be a lot of duds. Nukes need a lot of maintance and with the corruption level in russia, the money they get for it might often not used for that. It's hard to say but fising a nuke is not that easy. It needs a well done mechanism, else it's just a rocket loaded with a lot of radioactive material that wouldn't explode.
@Botanifiles
Ай бұрын
The type of nuclear weapon and its design influence the radiation produced. There are two main types: fission bombs, which split heavy atomic nuclei like uranium or plutonium, creating radioactive fallout, and fusion bombs, which combine light atomic nuclei, typically producing less fallout but still some radiation. Fusion bombs are often less radioactive because their fusion reactions produce fewer long-lived radioactive isotopes compared to the fission process. Various factors, including yield, design, and detonation conditions, impact the type and amount of radiation released.

@@OleDiaBole remember putin his " 3 days to kyiv " , those days are quite long already? Russia's best men are gone already, and wich outcome he think he will get from this war? Embarssed his own country,the red army just proves to be camo wearing folks with guns wich doesnt work properly or are not even trained, the majestical su57 is still a mythe, and they use a lot of outdated material (wich is kinda funny since ukraine had even more older soviet stuff but theirs functioning more than russia's own material) and offers their own people to either join army and die or go to jail for not joining army and only get out if they do (or they fall out of their windows 🤡) Best for russia is to retreat and war will end, simple as that If ukraine stops defending there will be no ukraine left Either putin retreats or GIVE UKRAINE ALL THE SUPPORT THEY NEED Because before war, i think everyone would know some russian guy and we all liked them as people we met at travelling, when going out, but their government is fucking that image of russians in general wich this dumb war

The human race is at a moment of historic danger: The Doomsday Clock is still 90 seconds to midnight! 90 seconds away from the destruction of human civilization and possibly the human race. Some history helps with context as to the significance of the Clock; Founded in 1945 by Albert Einstein, J. Robert Oppenheimer, and University of Chicago scientists who helped develop the first atomic weapons in the Manhattan Project, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists created the Doomsday Clock two years later, using the imagery of apocalypse (midnight) and the contemporary idiom of nuclear explosion (countdown to zero) to convey threats to humanity and the planet. The Doomsday Clock is set every year by the Bulletin’s Science and Security Board in consultation with its Board of Sponsors, which includes nine Nobel laureates. The Clock has become a universally recognized indicator of the world’s vulnerability to global catastrophe caused by man-made technologies.

both sides having them is the prevention. Neither side can stop the return volley. Even if Russia nuked the Pentagon, US AWACS aircraft would assume command and control of US nuclear subs around the world. I'm sure Russia had similar redundancies in place if Moscow was hit. There is no escape or "winning" for either side. That is what has prevented nuclear weapons from being used for over 70 years and it's not changing any time soon. Don't bother listening to the saber rattling from Putin. In the 70's and 80's the nuclear rhetoric was even worse than it is now.

1) US has various existing nato air bases already in Europe with shorter routes into the region. 2) US wouldn’t have to send any land forces since its response would be mainly air strikes, therefore wouldn’t need long prep times. In desert storm, 20% of air launched munitions were smart bombs, today it’s more than 90%. 3) You also were lost when he mentioned the fact that the preparation to use nukes would be detected by satellite surveillance/intelligence.
