I've never thought there are so much detail that we need to take care of when lifting with knee wraps. I did learn something new today. Thank you so much Ben!

Super helpful, man! After 25+ years lifting, I’m finally making it to my first set of wraps (GASP) and was wondering how the hell to put them in tomorrow!! Thanks for putting this out!

great video Ben. Love seeing how others get it done. what's your opinion on getting as much material behind the kneecap as possible, but crisscrossing above and below the front of the kneecap? I've been taught that this is the preferred method as it won't pull your patella out of position and will protect them better.

Yeh I did see that and it was sick. I already do a lot of grip training and don't have a weak grip by any means but is something I really enjoy doing so I'd love to see for from him about how he does his grip training and how he organises it/programs it in.

What's your thoughts on wrapping inwards vs outwards? If I wrap inwards I feel like I can push against the wraps to push my knees out. I also feel it could be placebo and not really matter.

I have the same issue. The second I put wraps OR a belt on, I lift at least 10% less weight. Not joking at all. I cant figure out how to implement wraps or a belt. I have deadlifted 630 beltless and squatted 555 in sleeves without a belt. A week before I pulled 630 beltless, I tried to pull 545 with a belt and failed. I'd love to figure out what my deal is.

@@91lxstang it takes some getting used to, and you need to learn how to use the stretch to give the pop at the bottom. start wrapping 6 weeks out from a meet

Help! The wraps need to be very tight but that is cutting off the blood circulation. I'm not wrapping as tight as shown in the video (and others). Don't think I could get it that tight due to arthritis in hands and wrists. Can somebody please give me some direction on this? I really need the wraps to work. The technique in this video did give my knee a good bit extra support but had to take it off due to the circulation issue. Is there a way I can keep it tight so that it works but won't cut off circulation?

Hey Ben, I'm currently using a pair of the APT all black knee wraps that are at my home gym. I'm looking at getting my own but obviously apt is no longer a thing. Been searching for a replacement and a coach pointed me to this video. Any suggestions on the closest thing to them?

  • @phdeadlift

Never used the APTs so I can't give you a good answer. I would reach out to Pioneer Fitness and ask, because I believe they began manufacturing the Strangulators (now called Silver Beasts) after APT stopped.

So basically your not really covering that vastus medialis at all. It's all pretty much on the knee right? And I've been doing this and I've found I can actually bend my knee after I wrap it and it feels good at the bottom of my squat... never felt good before

U said that if possible we could use a buddy to push our balls of our feet towards us//keep our toes pointed upward. Could you technically sit next to a wall and achieve the same result? Use the wall to aid u in keeping ur toes pointed up?!?

Reverse band squats seem like they'd actually let you 'pull' down with the Hamstrings, as there is resistance opposite to gravity.
