    I just got my foredom sr motor and 6 handpieces along with foot and table controller. I got my saeshin strong 202 micromotor with foot pedal. My nsk presto handpiece arrived this week and got my filter regulator stand and foot control setup for it this weekend. My razertip sk woodburner with 3 handpieces to start out and neon transformer lichtenberg and mot lichtenberg machines for my woodburning tasks. And about 300 different bits burrs stone etc for all the carvers. So my carving and engraving setup should be pretty complete. Will add to my knife making and opening up many other possibilities. Thank you for your inspiration. You are very talented and i appreciate you sharing your knowledge. It is a great help. Keep the videos coming please. Oh and thanks for making me spend so much money in the past month. Lol

    Did you burn the stippling or do anything other than stain it to get that darker look to it? Also, have you ever done two tone staining? I want to stain all but the lettering on a project, but I'm worried about it bleeding over. Yes, I'm a noob at this whole playing with my wood thing. I find it extremely relaxing.

    I'm probably overlooking it, but what size are the burrs that your using on that stippling; also do you always use the same 3 when you stipple? I''ve tried some stippling after watching your video and I think i may have used a too small of burr and wen too deep.

    First of all, I understood you just fine, but I'm a southerner as well. Love your videos and have learned a few things to add to my designs. Would be nice if you had someone who could "zoom in" on some of what you were showing. You did a great job working with what you had. Burr sizes, and maybe a buying source would be nice, but then that's what Google is for. What's your favorite way to transfer your image to the wood?

    Thank you! I appreciate it! Yes, I need to get some more lenses. I’m shooting in 4K so a lot of it is already zoomed in when I post edit. But I will try to pay more attention to this on my next video and try to make it closer for sure. I appreciate the feedback! I should have a rotary burr ebook coming out soon. I also have a few links below to some burrs :)

    Hello, I just recently got interested in wood carvings. I haven’t done one yet but I’ve watched your videos over and over and I think I’m ready to start. When I click on the Burrs you have in the description they are not the round burrs - will you pls say what “size” burrs you are using? I know you used 3 round ones - is there only 3 sizes? BTW - I have subscribed with the bell. Your videos are “THE BEST”.

    You mean I got the bell??? Hahaha thank you VanNessa! I appreciate the kind words! Yes, those burrs are different shaped. I need to update my links. There are many size burrs. I recommend some cheap round carbide burrs from dremel. There obviously some better ones from other companies but the dremel ones are very accessible. If you haven’t yet be sure to subscribe to my website at www.corneliuscreations.com for upcoming power carving blogs!

    You made me start with power carve :) yesterday i bought my first dremel :) Thank you so much! I tested my dremel with spruce wood and i think it is way to soft. Especially carving smaller things and symbols is very demanding with spruce i think. I tried to carve some words (i planned to carve arround them to let them stand out) but i totally failed with those holes of the letters ( e.g. the two holes of an "B") Maybe i drew the outstanding lines to thin (2mm,/ ~0,078 inch), so they broke. What kind of wood do you suggest for powercarving??

  • @CorneliusCreations

    @CorneliusCreations

    6 жыл бұрын

    A lot of wood will work besides Pine. You are right, sometimes softer woods are harder to put smaller details into. Since it was really your first time you need time to get used to it. I would start with something bigger first then start getting into the smaller detailed stuff. Once you start "Grasping" the technique you will start to understand border width and how much to take off. People use basswood for carving usually. So glad to hear you are getting into woodcarving!

    Thank you for the information :) At the moment i try powercarving on an other kind of wood which i found in my garage. I don't know what it is actually but i guess it is pinewood due to its red colour. It is a little bit harder than spruce wood and it works very well for now :D I just need to get the right feeling with the different milling cutter bits but your videos helped me a lot! Especially your video about the fingerpose of the pinky helped very :) And you were definitely right when you said it is better to carve only in one direction, not back and forwards. Thats what i'm working on now :) up.picr.de/32511364ru.jpg

    Mendell Jackson Hickory is the most common wood for axe/tomahawk handles. Ash is also a good alternative.

    I am going to start and try to wood carve with my Dremel but would like to know the number of the bits i see you use in your demos. i see the sizes on monitor but seem different live. Can you show what number bits you use for stippling and carving?

    I hardly use the dremel bits but I will try to get a Rotary burr guide out soon. I remember being overwhelmed when I first started and I’ll give you a piece of advice. Use what works. Mostly everything will work, but some better than others. Through doing this you will learn what is the best burrs for your projects.

    Nice video. It would have been a whole lot better if you hadn't had that silly musical track in the background competing with your voice.

    Your work is really awesome but the music is far too loud. I don't understand why you even need music while you're talking... If you're just carving, fine but it's not needed at all while talking. If you feel like you must have it make it BARELY perceptible. It would give you a much more professional effect.
