Great video. BUT, coin collectors beware. Do NOT polish coins that "might" be valuable. You will destroy them and also the price. It's very easy to see if a coins' been polished. Collectors don't want polished coins. It just completely ruins the value. If you look at the copper piece he polished closely, you can see all the scratches on it. Even if you can't see them with the naked eye, if you use a low powered microscope or jewelers loupe, you'll be able to see scratches everywhere. HOWEVER, if you want to polish coins that aren't worth more than face value, go ahead. Some people like highly polished coins and they do look "cool."

Very cool, but I'm already into rock collecting as a hobby and don't need another non-profitable hobby. Engraving tumblers or other stuff to sell would be awesome, though I can't see anyone buying a $50 wallet just because it's laser printed, especially when I wouldn't pay that much money for a wallet of any kind myself

Hello, could you help me? I have the Xtool S1 40W, and when engraving a tumbler, it stretches the image towards the sides and I struggle a lot to center it. When I align it, the laser moves to another place or the RA2 rotates the tumbler.

You won’t be able to cut on the conveyor, but it will most definitely engrave!

Hi Matt. Sorry i've been away for so long. Moving countries and get started from 0 hasn't been easy. Finally soon will start using my laser engraving machine, but i got a question for you, it only comes with one pair of protective glasses, and i would like to get another as we and my partner will be working with it, the people at the store where we bought it, Crreality distributoirs here in Colombia, told us to buy any that has UV protection which can be cheap, what do you think of this and what do you recommend?? Once again much appreciate the advice and help. Take care!! Thank you!!!

Also! I like to use a heavy bodied black tempera on the metals to engrave, it makes it black and more visible, can use higher speed, and the resource is cheap and accessible. Clean up is quick too!

One thing not talked too much about this unit, is the open concept cover. The lack of an interlock closure system makes this classified as a Class 4 laser, which if you are in a business that OSHA is regulating, it is a real headache to use the machine "safely". Pretty much have to have it in a locked room with no windows operating by itself, blinking entry lights, a bit of stuff if you look it up. OSHA Technical Manual (OTM) Section III: Chapter 6 lines a lot of it out.

You can set both the F1 and the ultra to shut off if you lift the cover. Not useful when using accessories though.

My idea was to created jig where I can place the wine glass and just engrave a name on the site without using the rotary. Put in a glass, push the button, Put in next glass , Push the button and so on. Because it will save much time if I do not need a 360 degree engraving.

xtool is so expensive that I had to find a cheaper alternative. And I hardly ever carve metal, I work with plywood, and I ended up choosing the Acmer P1 S, I don't think there's a better option for less than $200

The last line is honestly kind of terrifying. What you've said is, essentially, that the average person buys what FEELS good, rather than what IS good. Explains a lot about the current state of the economy.
