    It's much easier to spot a tactic, when someone caĺls out: Theres some tactic. Finding the Skewer in the first game was easy after that, but I wouldn't have spotted it within a game.

    I'm currently in a really bad streak, like, lost 150 ELO in a few days. It's impressive how imediatly after watching this video I sat in front of the PC and played (and won) 2 nicely played matches (for my level), just by calmly playing solid and collected moves. Lesson told, lesson learned. You're a great teacher, Mr Lopez

    Checkmating is much better than throwing in a random check. Even when "checkmating" the queen.

    Really love the rating climb videos. Honestly from my position I feel I've been overloaded with alot of opening knowledge and basic principles but I feel like I don't actually know how to properly study chess. If you could make a video breaking down the step you take when you personally study and show how you actually effectively analyze things and what information is useful to retain and what is less important to fully memorize.

    Greetings from Czech Republic :) I just recently discovered your channel and freshly subbed today. I enjoy how you describe each move with not only the overall plan and intention, but also showing us what it can lead to on the board and the specific scenarios it can lead to. The fact that you're playing aggressive gambits on top of that only makes it more interesting, fresh, dynamic ! Hoping to improve my own somewhat reckless aggressive style from your videos and to have better understanding of what works and why. Also - when you play the lower rated players, is it only your patrons that you select, or how can one get to play a game with you? Thank you for sharing your content, it is much appreciated! Daniel

    17:05 you think it would of been better to play RE1? attacking the bishop with the rook instead keeping the king in the center ? that’s what i thought you were going for initially . either way still completely winning

  • @dekinbane5469

    @dekinbane5469

    If you mean bishop G5 in this position it would be an inaccuracy close to a blunder. Blacks best reponse would be bishop E7 resulting in trading an undeveloped bishop for your developed one and gaining development for their knight leaving you in a worse position. Other things to consider are that the pawns can push your bishop out and your bishop can become a target giving your opponent tempo for developing their peices. All the while your bishop would pose no threat to the queen. Although G5 is protected from your knight pawns are effective at attacking protected pieces since they are more disposable. All in all if your opponent plays bishop E7 the engine says it is best to just trade the bishop.

    @@dekinbane5469 but that's true for bishop to b5+, his bishop could go to d7

  • @dekinbane5469

    @dekinbane5469

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@benzindani8540 True but that plays out very different. Your dark square bishop is already in a good place where as your light bishop is undeveloped. In short it is very complicated why Bishop B5+ is good and Bishop G5 is bad; too complicated for me. I am just trying to give you some idea on how us mortals can see that without a chess engine analysis. For example Bishop B5+ where black plays bishop d7 means blacks bishop is not developed but rather it is pinned to the king, a hard pin unlike bishop G5 which would be a soft pin. The bishop will either be forced to capture your bishop meaning you can plan for it and take tactical advantage OR black will need to move their king or block with the knight in order to get any activity from their bishop (the latter would leave the knight pinned). Too much pressure on your bishop from blacks pawns will damage their pawn structure and you can then just trade bishops with check and create another forced move for black. Meanwhile your bishop sits protected on a good square. Another thing to consider is that pawn structure will give you an idea which colour bishop is stronger for you or your opponent and if Bishop B5+ ends in a trade you would be trading different colour bishops than Bishop G5. Finally I see that the center pawns are structured where white can capture and place more pressure on blacks queenside offering more support and tactics on the queenside. These pawns would have no involvement if playing bishop G5. All in all in this position Bishop B5+ leads to threats and tactical possibilities that black will need to deal with where bishop G5 leads to nothing for white, and an improved position for black in just a few moves.
