Thanks for this. I have a Maytag that the bearings are howling when it goes into spin. Washer is just under 5 years old. My old Kenmore lasted 30 years. All new appliances are disposable garbage now.

I would say, stick with Whirlpool if they hadn't bought out Maytag. I saw a new One n Done at Lowe's yesterday for 2600 dollars. It eats its own exhaust. 👀 That's going to be a nightmare on many levels. 👀☺️

One the most important part of how use car jack to get to inner tub off isn't shown. I used a simple spin car jack , with a strap hold down on another block of wood, a screw driver to spin the jack. The other piece of wood needs to be on the gear case drive shaft so the jack pushes the tub off.

Our videos are to give you a general idea on how to do the repair. If you are able to remove the gear case without having to remove the basket that is good. If you want to provide your model number we can look into this for you.

Why tf are steel shaft splines worn flush against a plastic/fiber drive hub?! Transmission Part is $160 + new drive hub $25 + ~$20 shipping = A $205 repair New washer is $514. This failed on my machine in 3 years. Expectation is another 3 years to repeat failure. A disposable washer. Annual cost = $171/yr to own this product ($14.50/month). Not a terrible cost, but factor in your time & labor too! Don't expect "10 years" Lol.

One of the worst designed washers in history. Transmission is not service-able. transmission doesn't last. washer has bad lid lock system that's also not service-able. Control board on these washers fail consistently (used cheap capacitors) and also not service-able. washer was meant to buy and throw away. NOT ACCEPTABLE - never buy whirlpool again.
