    Thank you for sharing. But the other side of the world would break the leave cells wall by deep freezing first, then rub it using the bitter leaf rubbing machine.

    Wow 😮, great idea to boil and wash the bitter leaves. I remember in the village, you will wash it several times and they are still bitter. I like them in egusi soup with light bitter taste. Thanks for sharing this technique 👍

    We prepare bitterleaf this way in my country to prepare porridge plantains and cocoyams. Though at times the bitter is still bitter but it has a natural taste

    Good but the idea of dropping the stems on the.soil is not for me.I feel is contaminating and.picks sand. That's why some bitter has particles of sand in them sometimes X

    it was washed before processing and even during the cooking if there are still any sand, it will sink to the buttom of the pot👍

    That's the reason Leah thoroughly washed and rinsed twice in plenty water inside the big bowl before boiling! This way the sand settles at the bottom while the bitter leaf is removed.

    But your people don’t cook bitter leaf soup, otherwise you will not dry it, you use fresh bitter leaf for bitter leaf soup , and it is not cut into that tiny bits . specialty of people from the Southeast of Nigeria.

    Vernonia amygdalina; a perennial shrub commonly known as bitter leaf plant due to the bitter taste of its leaves. Bitter leaf is native to the eastern and western parts of Africa where it grows wild along water ways, in grassland and at the edges of forests. It is a shrub or small tree up to 2 - 5m with elliptical green leaves up to 20cm. long.
