How to use Vitamin C like a Dermatologist | Dr Davin Lim

Ғылым және технология

For awesome skin care tips go to drdavinlim.com/skin-care-tips/
Here's a link to where you can find that C E Ferulic acid: theformulated.com/products/c-...
.
CE Ferulic is a vitamin C serum formulated with 15% L-ascorbic acid to combine its powerful antioxidant benefits with vitamin E (1%) and 0.5% ferulic acid for advanced environmental protection and visible anti-ageing benefits.
.
What is vitamin C & why is it great as part of your skincare routine?
Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a powerful antioxidant that can provide many benefits for the skin when applied topically.
Collagen synthesis:
Vitamin C is essential for the production of collagen, a protein that gives skin its structure and elasticity. By promoting collagen synthesis, vitamin C can help to improve the skin’s firmness, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improve overall skin texture.
.
Brightening:
Vitamin C is known for its ability to brighten the skin and even out skin tone. It can help to reduce the appearance of age spots, hyperpigmentation, and other types of discoloration.
.
Sun protection:
Vitamin C can help to protect the skin from damage caused by UV rays and environmental toxins. It can also help to repair skin damage caused by sun exposure.
.
Anti-inflammatory:
Vitamin C has anti-inflammatory properties that can help to reduce redness and inflammation associated with ageing skin, acne and other skin conditions.
.
Antioxidant properties:
Vitamin C neutralises free radicals, molecules that can damage cells and contribute to ageing. By neutralising free radicals, vitamin C can help to protect the skin from damage and promote healthy ageing.
.
It’s important to note that Vitamin C can be unstable and can easily be degraded by light and air. It’s recommended to use Vitamin C products that are packaged in airtight, opaque containers to protect the Vitamin C from light and air. Also, it’s best to use a product with a pH close to the pH of the skin, to ensure optimal absorption and effectiveness.

As usual amazing but the 'you gotta understand your formulations' comment there can be a bit bewildering to people. What exactly does that mean? Just understanding the % is enough or you need to understand the entire ingredients list and how to understand formulations if chemistry just isnt your thing?

I loved the Banish Vitamin C creme, but then they went and changed the formula and now I wonder about repurchasing it because all I've seen since the formula change are negative comments. But it helped me so much and since I ran out, I've noticed my skin relapsing slightly. What exactly does the ingredient tetrasodium glutamate diacatate do? And what do they mean by "organic alcohol"?

I found that the littlextrea riceberry vitamin c face serum gives my skin more glowing and evens out my pale skin tone. It also reduced my fine lines. Now I use it consistently in my skin care routine. One more thing I noticed is that it speeds up wounds like scratches or marks from blemishes heal faster. In the morning, before leaving for the office, I use rice berry sunscreen and moisturizer on top of the serum. Before this, I tried decontrcts serum, but it did not give me any good results. Now I'm super happy with my current skin care routine, and I intend to stick with it for a long time.

I guess the answer is Yes we can if our skin can tolerate because vit c is an acid and has a low pH, hence can irritate the skin.. also a broad spectrum sunscreen is a must . Moreover, not only vit c has collagen boosting and antioxidant properties..some other collagen boosters can be added to the skin care instead of using only vit c twice eg peptides of copper and other peptides, ceramides, retinoids, niacinamide, bakuchiol.
