Today I officially started working on the floor at McDonald’s! They assigned me on taking orders as usual and I was lokey scared and anxiety was going up but i got the hang of it after 4 hours it becomes easy as you keep going. I was taking the orders by myself not giving or taking the money. If anyone is stressing it’s ok it will get easier I promise

McDonald’s was the first job I ever had. Now that I’ve worked at several restaurants I can say that the POS at McDonald’s is hands down the most intuitive and user friendly POS I’ve ever used. It is fast food after all and they definitely understood the importance of fluidity. Every POS has a ton of buttons but the way you can edit an order without blockades is a huge advantage. This was back in 2015 and it looks like much hasn’t changed. Stick with what already worked.

i was trained 3 times on the register and they put me on it for the first time and i was stressing SOO much i got a couple orders wrong. i’m just hoping i get the hang of it

omg im glad to hear you got training. They never trained me. They just put me on the first window and said okay figure it out. I was so stressed out. But don't worry, you'll get the hang of it. It got way easier for me and i was about to take both lanes and charge at the same time. Sometimes it got hard cause customers would complain i would take long but none of my coworkers would help. i wish you the best of luck :)

Yeeee the bacon quarter pounder you can make a meal now, it’s 2a, 2b and 2c cause you kno how the quarter pounder is a number 2.. and then the new chicken sandwiches are 4a 4b and 4c it’s so different and weird

my first day was yesterday and they said “oh the tablet broke so no training video that’s ok it’s easy” and never taught me to use this thing

This helped so much!!!! Today is my fourth day and they had me in the back window for the past three dyas. I am hella confused. I had two trainers but they were so fast! I was told by my manager i was too slow on the back and had my trained take over. I was so scared i almost cried 😭

Hi I just started working and they had me on drive thru. At first I was just charging people, and then I started taking orders the second day. Honestly, I have more trouble hearing people than putting in orders. Customers be getting frustrated at me 😭

If someone asks for a meal, like for example, someone wants a Big Mac meal, do you ask them what size first? So like would you say what size and if they say Large you click the L (large) and then you click the big mac? Or do you have to first click the Big mac and then click make meal?

Don’t be nervous!!! Just try to learn the menu first then it’ll come naturally

You’re bound to make mistakes on the register. Get to know your coworkers and let them know you’re new or else they’ll get extremely upset and won’t be patient. I’m only on my 5th day and it is so overwhelming but I still feel like it’s easy money. You’ll be fine.

The button layout is extremely unintuitive. I couldn't figure out how to take an item off the order when I tried taking someone's order. I shouldn't have tried to do it without training, but I didn't think it would be hard at all.
