So when i connect my VR headset, and Steam says the Quest 3 headset is connectet, but i still can't launch games, and the SteamVR constantly says checking for Vive Basestations, even when i have removed the software?

Im so jealous of his sick Bioshock room

@Nathie - The "Steam Link Passthrough" section doesn't talk about passthrough, it only talks about an easier way to get to the Quest menu by tapping the side of the headset

Mine is saying on my pc that "a fatal error has occoured" and when i relaunch steam vr like it says to the same thing happens while my vr headset is saying "it is taking longer than usual to connect to host pc" ​​@@nathie

@Nathie thank you for your detailed video . i followed your steps but when i try to pair between headset and computer , i got the message " Host not responding , restart your steam VR ( error 200 ) , although Steam link and Steamvr both seems like running in the PC . PC and Headset are both on the same Wifi ( 5G ). any advice ?

Hi. Bro thanx for the video. I did everything you mentioned the vr pads works on steam but when i open any game pads does not work at all. Any ideas?

Great information. I'm new to VR and want to learn more about Stream Link. I'm confused about a separate router. Does it need to be wired direct to my lap top? Also, I use a Microsoft Surface Pro 8. What is the laptop you are using for steam link?

Hi Nathie, I currently have a laptop with a 3050 RTX, 16 gb of ram and a 12 gen intel i5 core. I also have a meta quest 3, and I was thinking of buying blade and sorcery. But I don’t know if my pc is capable of running it smoothly or if I should just buy the quest version (nomad). I have seen the recommended specs for the game on pc but I have seen that people say that laptop isnt good for pcvr. What do you say?

You will be fine I used to run blade and sorcery on an rx580 with 16gb of ram and a 7th gen i5 just fine

My thought is the space on my PC is greater than my quest 3. To me the headset is just a piece of hardware

6:04 what if i don't have a "steam streaming speakers" or even an "oculus streaming speakers" or something similar. i have only my stereo and headset

I have a laptop with a rtx 4060 and a Intel i7 with 16 gigs of ram. I use oculus link and half life alyx runs badly but I can run Boneworks and Bonelab at max graphics. Do you know what the problem is. (Ps: I can’t even run half life alyx on low graphics)

For some reason when i start the game it only opens with a big screen rather than actually in VR, so MSFS2020 im looking at a big screen rather than sitting in the cockpit! I'm doing something wrong obviously

That is helpful, but what i am interested is how good does it actually work? I plan on only using my quest 3 for pc. But there is no video on yt on how good it actually works. I tested the valve index and it was very good but it has cables, and these trackers and everything. How good is the quest 3 for only steamvr?

@@Nicofue2902 out of the box, no. You can get it to work by changing to steam xr from open or oculus. Or at least that did for me after about ten hours of having to use virtual desktop with the exact same quality as quest 2

@@fufutu6782 make sure you have regular steam running on your PC. I took an extra step off making sure I used the same email I use for steam to set up my headset but this may not be necessary. Plug in cable and make sure it's a fiber optic one. Some people can't get third party ones to work. If you are using WiFi link I can't help you add I use the cable. Then open steam link on headset, and select the CPU and you will hear a tone when it connects. Then lift up headset and look at CPU monitor you should see small steam VR box, it has the three bars hamburger in the corner for settings select that with your mouse. Then check thru settings should be one that lets you select open xr oculus xr or steam xr. Make sure steam xr is selected. If that doesn't work, or if you are using WiFi instead of cable, I don't know what else to tell you

I recommend have it your pc charge full and the quest then u can start all of the downloading and work and upload u a game cause the oculus dies a lil quick 😅

So, Nathie - Why DOESN'T this work over a Wifi Mesh system? I have a 1200Mbps Wifi Mesh system around my house with faster speeds than a network cable with similar ping. So - Why is SteamLink not able to connect to my PC through this? It can connect in my room using the node network-cable'd to my PC, but not the node downstairs which can see the same PC.

Is there a way to trick the system to thinking youre on ethernet? My router is upstairs and would have to run a REALLY long cable...It's not letting me use steamlink without ethernet hooked up.

why does the app not show up in my library?

I've run into a small but gamebreaking issue: Steamlink and steamvr have been working flawlessly for months, but suddenly im now unable to play anything. For the first minute of booting up steamvr and hopping into a game, everything is perfectly stable, before suddenly everything starts breaking, with the in-headset display flashing the steamvr loading icon before just giving me and error message the my headset is not found, meanwhile the game on my pc is perfectly fine, with absolutely no errors. The only thing i could mention for why this happened is because i switched from a quest 2 to a quest 3, but i did go back in with the 2 and had the same issue. Sorry for the long comment, but it has caused me to essentially waste $100+ on games I can't play anymore.

Steam link is working but i can not seem to get the audio to come threw my quest 3 headset not the pc speakers any help!?
