It does, boredom stages always comes no matter what you're doing. The thing is that with flat screen games, if you get bored in a game, you can just buy and play another one and there is a lot to choose from. However, for VR games, there isn't a lot to choose from after a few months or so, when you've already played most of the good games. But I do agree tho, playing with friends can dramatically delay that and it did for me. Until my friends got bored of them...
@bubbledog12
10 ай бұрын
Yeah, but instead it’s replaced by the nostalgia stage where all your friends left and you just keep playing just to have a fraction of the fun you used to have.
This video was way better than I realized going in. It seemed a lil gimmicky but I gotta be honest, your right. The last one hit me hard because I found myself showing VR to all my friends over the past year or so, we’d smoke some pot and I’d show them all the best games- blade and sorcery, H3VR, Saints and Sinners! me and my boy even took turns on Into the Radius runs all summer and had a blast. Having your own headset is worth it, but bringing your friends into the fold is top tier. Now about half or so of my friends have headsets so every once in a while we can hop in a contractors or gorilla tag game and have so much fun just enjoying gaming like we are kids again
@cheddargt
27 күн бұрын
I think playing stuff like contractors or gorilla tag with friends is the main reason I want to get one. I think I'm done playing games by sitting in front of a pc for a large amount of hours. If i'm gonna play something, I want to atleast get my body moving aswell so I can get some of that endorphins along with the dopamine
I feel old watching these videos.. I've been playing VR since 2016. I've tried almost every headset under the sun, owned many, and have played A LOT of games.. the best advice I could give is find friends to play with, preferably people you're already close with in the real world and play together. Find multiplayer and co-op campaign games that you can play together and I promise it will make the whole experience so much more fun. My best friend and I played games like Echo VR and Arizona Sunshine together in the early days and it truly made the whole experience so much better. Playing those games alone would've been fun, but not nearly as fun as having my best friend in there with me. The best experiences are the ones that are shared.
went through literally all of these IN ORDER too. maybe not the last one, i'm addicted and will probably be buying the quest 3 with FBT. the quest 2 might be one of the greatest things in terms of technology put out in the past few years. giving the general public easy access to VR experiences without needing a crazy powerful computer or a lot of knowledge on how VR works is just such an amazing thing.

@lucio-ohs8828

@@sam_9228gorilla tag is filled with annoying kids but is still really fun and a great demonstration of how VR can offer something unique that traditional games can’t. Red Matter 2 is one of the best looking quest games and a great demonstration of what good optimization can do. Beat Saber is a classic, but to get all the song packs you need to pay more money. If you’re a little tech savvy and willing to do some short research, you can mod the game to get tons of custom songs for free. If you’re looking for a good shooter, it depends on the type of genre you like. If you like run and gun cod style action with lots of mods, get Contractors. If you like counter strike, get Pavlov. For some free ones, X8 is like Valorant and Population: One is like Fortnite. For social games, VRChat and Rec Room are basically the 2 dominant ones. For an RPG, A Township Tale is pretty good but the servers are a bit dead right now. There’s tons more games out there but I don’t want to keep rambling, I recommend searching on google for reddit posts for recommendations from real humans

I was practically raised on vr and it has really impacted my life, I have met so many cool people, made so many friendships, real life and online because of it.
for me, my "boredom" stage was more of a forced break for almost a year due to my headstrap dying. Comeback hit harder than playing for the first time, skill increased, jumped right into Sidequest also, and now I'm pretty sure I'm at my peak enjoyment
I use the index but I think it applies to it as well lol. I’m forever stuck in the “comeback” stage as I’ve had my years of playing countless hours in VR but nowadays I always come back to it once in a week or two, I just can’t have enough of how incredible vr is and since I’ve got a new beast pc it is even funnier to play

I've had my quest for 4 years now, and I can confirm that this list is accurate. There are a few other stages that you didn't mention that people have already mentioned in the comments like PCVR, and mods. But other than that, I have been through each and every one of these stages ever since I got my quest. For the last one though, I didn't give it up to a younger sibling because I don't have one. I just stopped playing it, partly because I got bored of it again, and it is pretty much on it's last legs right now. It has horrible stick drift, and is extremely laggy and glitchy. I can definitely say this though, it served me very well and I am glad I got experience it for myself.

the thing different about my stages is there is no boredom stage because 2 of my other friends have quest 2s and we play together every day doing something new, also i don't have a pc so no sidequest stage either.
Vr is also not only bound to games only, you can watch 3D content on it and play some unreal engine games with an injector, vr gets more and more interesting quite quickly when you start exploring your options with it.
I got the quest 2 for Christmas of 2020 (original 64gb model), and I only bought it for beat saber. In the 3 years that I've owned VR, even after getting a VR ready PC in 2021, I haven't bought any other game. I am in love with Beat Saber, and I haven't gotten bored with it yet.

The boredom and comeback stage are part of a cycle for everything I have games on. It’s a cycle where I will spend about 2 weeks to maybe 2 months on a console before I get bored again and move on to another.
I remember playing on Rift S at my friend's house saying to myself "im getting a vr headset". Cause at the time this was the most fun gaming i've had in years. Bought it in December last year and i did play it religiously for about a month and a half. I got RE4 and Beat Saber for free cause i got the lucky timing and bought it in December, but after i've finished RE4, got bored of Beat Saber pretty quickly and Breachers went P2P i didn't touch the headset for about 4 months. It just kept sitting on my desk. I just didn't want to play VR cause it just wasn't as fun as the first time, but then i decided to give it another try and bought a link cable and some games i.e Ghost of Tabor and recently Blade & Sorcery and im having fun again. Actual fun. Blade & Sorcery really is tons of fun.
I've never ever ever gotten bored in VR. Like ever. The games are NOT too expensive - compared to console games they are freaking cheap and there is actually a TON of free content. My critique is that Meta doesn't have an easier 'free game starter pack' on the store that they guide you to.

Right now, I'm in my "comeback" phase. I haven't had my Quest 2 since last New Year's. I'm eager to get that feeling again, with new endeavors... such as PCVR. I'm also in another phase I like to call the "Lights off in front of the PC on my bed with the brightness turned up" phase.
All the colorful circular plastic pieces are part of a game called tiddlywinks, where you have to flick those little pieces into cups with the 4 or more bigger plastic pieces.

I'm currently a pcvr player but I started with a quest 1 and already had a list of games to buy
tbf the comeback stage was when i finally did PCVR only to find out i could run it the whole time lol. i had most vr games installed (e.g. half life alyx) and i completly forgot about steamVR when i tried for the first time and thought steam games could run off the oculus software.
My Quest 2 adventure has sadly come to an end, after I experienced amazing PCVR games, my headset is finally starting to wear out. I now have extreme stick drift, where it jumps around like crazy on the left controller, I have a cracked controller, and not to mention the amount of factory resets. Its been a wild ride for me with my headset, but as they say, when one door closes, another one opens.
The whole "none of your friends really have vr" is funny to me since I got a quest _because_ my friends had it

I’d say this list is pretty accurate. I just got out of the boredom stage and have been playing a lot of VR lately
I normally play gorilla tag or other social games and watch movies. I thought I would love the story games, but there is so much for free that just gives you a lot more fun. And watching movies are just incredible.
I actually asked myself that same question but in the end I ended returning my quest 2. It's like you said it's in the baby stages so there's not that many good games out and all the games are expensive. For some reason most the games feel like they should cost like 5 bucks or be free but end up being $20 or $30.
This is actually very accurate, and entertaining.

this was spot on. I later got bored of my shitty frames on quest so i switched to pcvr and went through the same thing again (especially full body) has the same effect
And with the Apple Vision Pro finally releasing and the things that the headset is capable of, it really looks like the next step in the VR industry is on its way.
Been using VR ever since the Oculus Rift came out. Went through all stages multiple times haha Nowadays I mostly just develop for VR games and don't play as much, but that goes for all games
this is pretty accurate, even for people like me who started playing vr with the rift way back in 2016/2017 (wonder if I would be at a different stage cause of how long I have been playing) good video

I can so relate to almost every stage of owning a quest 2, also I agree Blade and Sorcery its the best game I ever bought. LOVED THE VID!
Im at the last stage, but I never left vr. I found my passion when buying the quest 2 exactly 1 week after it's release and I have about 1200 hours on standalone and maybe like 1700 hours on pcvr.

Bro I know, quest games are dirt cheap compared to console/pc games
i recently got a vr and i got vrchat and started making friends if you have people playing with you its always a blast
I've had my quest for like 6 years at this point bro, there's always been two games I've played constantly, being beat saber and vrchat, eventually I got into Gorilla tag but stopped after a while when I got into shooters like pavlov, onward, and gun raiders, then came my fantasy obsession which I still have, this was when I got game like battle talent, orbus vr, zenith nexus, and blades and sorcery as well as joining an rp in vrchat that's a lot like dnd. Currently I'm back in my shooter stages but my main shooter is hyperdash as I've been offered an official spot on a comp team that my friend is one of the captains of called UNDG.
0:13 Turn it off for the first time?
I never got bored, I'm 17 and I started when I was 15, I broke 2 vrs lol, but when I had them vrchat and gorilla tag never bored me at all, especially when you are looking forward to doing stuff with friends
this was kinda like this for me, except my first experience wasn't on my quest, it was on my friends. I started out with beat saber and i was surprisingly good at it and i've always been a rythm game fanatic so i got my home and instantly bought the quest 2 alongside beat saber. I beat every song on every difficulty except ghost ( can't figure my way around it's complexity ) and so i went to pcvr and got modded beat saber and i headed into songs that were " harder to beat " than ghost but seemed a lot easier for me to play. Then i got bored and all the fun stuff like roblox vr, minecraft vr, and all the other things got boring. Now my vr headset sits in a box with busted controllers that have the most outrageous controller drift probably from me hitting the wall and things while flailing my arms around in beat saber.
My first fame was VRChat, moved on to Onward and Contractors, and am now addicted to Blade and Sorcery
Nah bro just summed up my entire time of having a quest 2, it's crazy including the boredom and obsession. Thats hella crazy bro
I got Fnaf help wanted, and pre ordered help wanted 2, ima get a hockey game soon, and maybe ghost busters and starwars as well
I havent gotten bored of my quest 2 yet. Since i have PC compatible with VR i already had a few games that was on steam.
for the blurry vision thingy, please, if you have minor astigmatism or any sort of light blurryness, dont worry too much. I did and i literally have 0 problems even tho i do have those things in the day to day
Missed the "PCVR" stage, where upon discovery of just how much more visually stunning/well-crafted PC VR experiences are, you chase the best possible experience. Cycling through new PC components, Fullbody tracking, possibly even new headsets like the Index, or Bigscreen Beyond.
I've been playing VR ever since it came out and I'm still on the obsession stage
I actually played the quest 2 demo first. Was surprisingly dope as a first experience.
Also, if you have the perfect size glasses, like me, they’ll fit in your headset so you can just wear them but warning they do get bit froggy sometimes
I am past all of them. Onward has always been my fall-back alongside blade. I have had so much fun. I had gotten the Q1 when it first came out, and yes i mean the 1 and a half pound black box with sand paper as a face rest, after o got the Q2 on pre order, it looked and felt like i was flying, pop-one was the best, i was smashing the old headset guys, when i picked it up out of the box it was like a grain of sand in comparison to the Q1. I could move and turn so fast, i made it to my peak in the Q2 when my hands fit the controllers, i was unstoppable in onward, i could see better i could keep my head up more, with the Q1 sometimes you had to look down because of the weight. Im seeing so many memories... it was fun. But because my Q2 is from pre order, its not as advanced or as fast as it was when it was new.
I'm about to get a meta quest this Christmas so thanks for telling me the stages
Speaking from someone who owns a quest 1 and is a certified og (even made youtube vids) I never got bored since I could always hang out with irl friends who also had a quest or people I have met online. It is only now that the quest 1 has lost support (which is still stupid in my opinion) that I lost interest in vr since I am forced to buy a new headset or else I can't play games.
I've really enjoy your video, I'm now like on _COMEBACK_ stage and I've come thru all the rest C=
im glad you put some tribute to echo vr. I was a vrml player for it before it died 😢
I love that this video shows on my FYP after I bought one and it came in today
Echo VR was the best, I played it any waking minute, I miss it and it was fun while it was lasted. RIP Echo VR
I’m back in the boredom stage, I was so excited to get fnaf help wanted 2 which would probably get me back into vr but it’s only on quest 3, guess I’m just stuck with big scary for now
lol I am in the Beat Saber camp BUT with sidequest and BMBF, it makes modding the game and adding a metric f-ton of more songs, its well worth it
hey, what font did you use for the subtitles this video?
ive gone through all of this with my rift s and only now recently have a quest 2 so now its time to repeat
I was always on the maybe stage, but VR is so worth it and more people should get that stuff
The stage where you find out you can use SteamVR on your headset, that was a gamechanger for me
this literally describes my entire experience with VR, and my youtube career too
The boredom stage is the reason I had multiple games for my vr on the day I got it, just so I have a lot of content off of the bat
Bro that one game I played 24/7 was Echo VR it brought me real joy and hapiness when I played it I played a lot of games before I found the one and then on august 1st my heart broke and now vr is no longer fun to me.
I wish more people payed attention to rec room in its prime in April 2022. When the backrooms trend was going around. That was my favorite VR era
Most vr KZreadrs are clueless about the possibilities of the quest 2, you are the first KZreadr I’ve seen with knowledge about the quest 2
i LOVE family get togethers because i put my grandparents, my aunts, my uncles, and my parents in vr to play but what they dont know is that they are in a horror game
Tip: If you have Lethal Company installed on your computer you can insall the lethal company vr mod made by Daxces I dont know how you can set it up because I dont have a vr headset but I think thats cool
I play alot of vr on my quest and made alot of friends that i will never forget
got the quest august last year and probably spent about a month or 2 playing it quite a bit, then just stopped for ages, came back February and played a full month of just Onward then just stopped again, then april 13th Breachers came out and i saw it instantly and got hooked, played for a week or 2 and realised i was pretty good at it, started my esports journey for that game and been playing basically everyday since, finally the end of Season 1 of the champions league right now, and im in the finals! win or lose im not putting this game down or vr as a whole, its just too good
BRO I HAVE LITERALLY GONE THROUGH EVERY SINGLE ONE IN A WEEK
I saw the rated R when you were talking about that last phase and had a heart attack
I got addicted to beatsaber because it's a rhythm game that I can actually play. I don't have to worry about my horrible ability to keep up with my fingers doing multiple tasks at once, and I get to exercise in the process. No clue what to get in terms of other vr games though, already beat Superhot VR and even beat First Steps 💀
All of my friends (and me) got a quest 2 at the same time which made it fun for a lot longer
I went straight to hacking/modding, and sideloading. I don't view the quest 2 as a "gaming console" as much as I see it as a virtual computer environment. With the FB messenger call and cast feature it makes showing people websites and media SUPER easy. No OBS virtual cam required.
I never did the sidequest phase, but I did, and still am going through the "addicted to rec room, and only rec room" phase
haha, i went through the prankster phase. i made my dad play walk the plank, i expected him to hate it but no.. he loved it so much it turned into his favorite game
2:45 i reccommend multiplayer games! Like vrchat, gtag and etc, they are funny and you have someone to talk to! Never be bored again!
Even without buying a VR headset, I am in the buy beatsaber stage + sidequest stage + youtube stage But primarily I'm on the 'buy quest 2' vs 'wait for quest3 price to drop' stage.
