This is how I use planer boards trolling for Walleye. It also works for other spices of fish. sometimes it is hard to tell if there is a fish on, but that is why I will use a planer board that has a tattle flag or one of the mini boards. don't forget to get visit our online store!

On the mini planer board that was closer to the boat, how do you figure out how much line to let out from the clip on the board to the lure ?

It all depends on how fast you need to go the lure you are using and what depth of water you are fishing also how deep the fish are. What I was using is supposed to dive 3-6' and I wanted it to go through the water at 2.5' so I let out 12' behind the board going 1.4 mph

Standard is 2 but you can purchase 1 extra line.
