    Flexibility is very important to me. Thing happen that professional photographers should be able to adapt to. I like the idea of being able to use a premium phone with a premium light once ametuers see the price of the B10 I am almost positive they will close the page, in most cases anyway.... Additionally for run and gun shooters having a minimalist kit for shooting content for maybe your instagram, this works great. I would personally rather have a full frame camera with lens options, but I would definitely like to have this as an option! Wonder what it looks like in the studio🤔?

    A turning point in photography. I hear the arguments, but they don’t defer me from being interested. This is the beginning of greater flexibility. at most like a galaxy photo...other phones using same sony camera sensor will be the same. it's not like apple make their own sensor. all the BS which phone company make better picture is BS, cause as long as the sensors are the same...the result won't be that far apart. and why you need LiDAR on a camera? not like you need to autopilot your phone.

  • @soban9685

    @soban9685

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@ayayoutuber You got it wrong tho, Apple designs and Sony makes the sensor, it isnt like others can also use the same sensor or they are buying a Sony design, also sensor is a small thing in a phone, so most of the look and data comes from computational photography. It depends on how good their algorithms are,how better their chips etc. are. LIDAR will be used for depth data to get better depth information for portrait mode, but that isn't its primary feature, they'll just be trying to squeeze everything out of it, so they'll optimize and calliberate it with the camera modes, meanwhile it's primary feature will still be for AR usage, which apple is going towards in the future, that's why they implemented it in the ipads first to gather data to improve it in the future iphones.

    Don't get me wrong, this is really cool. I just can't see this being useful in the real world outside of KZread Showcase ever. People who don't have a professional camera won't buy professional strobes and use them with their phones and professionall photographers who own strobes like this will not use their phone instead of their pro camera. The only use case I see is like behind the scenes social media type content, because you save one step of sending photos from the camera to the phone (but I think I would still rather use the camera shots).

    @@thatcherfreeman, true - but in that case I would really have to reconsider my choice of profession - and most probably I'd die from embarassement before I'd take the first shot. It still hurts my brain to think I would take bridal pictures with anything else but the best camera at hand - not only for flash sync reasons, but also obviously because of dof concerns - I know, phones can simulate aperture digitally, but I rather buy a nice new lens than an iPhone for my professional needs. Phone pics are reserved for those moments when I really did not bring anything else...

    i think this is a great idea.. sure right now its not ideal to have such expensive strobes when using an iPhone camera, but think about a few years from now... this feature will be able to come down to consumer level prices and soon you can buy a simple strobe for like$80 and be able to play with light on your phone. This will open up so many other possibilities to those who are just starting to learn photography.

    With all that sunlight and powerful strobe, I was hoping to see how far you can get with the 2x camera shooting at ISO 32. The ultra wide had incredibly noise shadows.

    Ah, so it’s through the Profoto app. Which I’m assuming can’t do Portrait mode? And does the app support raw? I’d hope so.

    It can do raw and jpeg. I’m not sure on Portrait mode since it’s through Profoto app. I have an iPhone 7. Can test that feature.

    That was just awesome! Thanks for this video. The potential for smartphone-based photography just keeps better every year if not sooner with advancements made in algorithms and computational photography. Unfortunately this setup is not available in the Android world (yet), but I think i should eventually come. Manufacturers just can't (won't) ignore the lion's share of the global market. The other issue is, they will need to lower the price significantly for the commoners if they wish to increase market share. But conceptually, this is just awesome. Thanks.
