What! WHAT!!!! Two ram slots!!!!?!? Dam I just ordered one ram card 8g to replace the 4g in there from the factory. It has not come yet but I guess when I install it I’ll see if I have two slots too. I got this pc for Christmas and it’s so slow it’s hard to believe it. Good video man I can’t wait to install my stuff hopefully it helps the computer actually be useful I can’t used it right now as it is. I know it’s not a $3000 pc but geeze it should be illegal to sell a computer this slow

Regarding your question, if you want to boost the performance of this laptop and convert it to Ferrari upgrade the HDD to ssd: kzread.info/dash/bejne/h416o9mxnLmZXbg.html the ram will not have that much affect in performance of the windows compare to the SSD, you will be shocked once you upgrade the HDD to SSD. I have a HP laptop 15 which I bought in 2018, it works perfectly till this day but it’s really slow. It takes so long to open an application but idk if it’s my hhd or ram that I need to change. I still have 700gb left to use from 1TB.

My gp 15 does not have a slot for a second ram

What is the best 32 GB RAM compatible with an hp 15-db0011dx. I've been looking and I can't find anything online to that helps me answer that question

Just installed 16 Gb using this excellent guidance. “About” now shows 16 Gb but the 15 db0xxx does not run any faster. Is there some “learning” involved or is there a special update needs installing as well? Machine is fully updated for current W10 from MS. Thanks.

Short answer is: Nope. RAM upgrades alone will help, but not 'fix' your perceptions. What you believe runs faster today will lessen over time. That said, consider the speed of your hard drive, and the CPU speed of your processor, along with the amount of RAM installed on any computer. No one has 'the answer' when it comes to speeding up Windows throughput. If they did, you would find their video would be the only one left to watch. Wish I could be the one to say to you - fix 'this', or change 'that'. Not going to happen. I too just took apart an HP 15-db0088dc to upgrade ram from 4gig to 12gig. Only now I find out there's only one socket to hold RAM. And I call myself 'computer-aware'. Just did not realize HP would manufacture a single socketed model when there are motherboard traces for two sockets. HP just did not ask me first. Oh well, I will just run with 8gig since it cost $18 from NewEgg.and I won't try a 32gig RAM chip just to find it not run any faster either. Best regards, MWH

@stephenbemis regarding your question, i would highly recommend you to upgrade the main storage that is a HDD (mechanical drive) to a SSD and you will be amazed of the performance increase we upgrade the hdd to ssd for our clients and the performance boost is outstanding. here is a link to storage upgrade: kzread.info/dash/bejne/h416o9mxnLmZXbg.html the ram upgrade is only for those that want to have many applications opened at the same time or browser tabs opened. it will indeed help once you upgrade the storage to ssd. i would highly recommend you to upgrade the mechanical storage to ssd to see a big performance boost, as i/we do this service for our clients and the results are amazing. the ram upgrade is nice and helps with performance but if you have a ssd. cheers🍻

Thanks for the clear answer! Local shop gave same advice so I’ll have him do the sad so I don’t have the extra work backing up & rebooting the OS. Again, the RAM upgrade was slick as I do run multiple programs concurrently.
