I love the feel of vintage shirts. Thick, heavy. I hate modern regular cotton t-shirts. Too soft. I like the stiff, rough feel.

I bought Gildan Heavy cotton but it isn't as near as mentioned before so i am having best hopes for S2000

Try mixing in baking soda to the salt. The baking soda with give it that alkaline wash that will help break down the coating in the fiber. Those coatings are what the manufactures add to help preserve that stiff crisp feeling. But we dont like stiff and crip. Then depending if you can afford to have the shirt shrink a bit, set the dryer to hot.

if you are here looking to fade black shirts: Go over your black shirt with low grit sandpaper like 200 grit, everywhere. then put your shirt in a pot or container and add 6 cups of boiling or very hot water then add 3/4 cup of bleach and 1/4 cup of salt. watch your shirt. pull it at desired look. 7 minutes is usually right for me. wash regularly on hot, it will come out looking faded but it will feel stiff. if you want it to be soft throw it back in your container with hot water and epsom salt for about a half hour and let it hang dry. ba bang your welcome

I read that there’s no need to wait so long, after 7 minutes it’s absorbed all it’s going to. Then when you fry it, you take it out of the dryer before it’s fully dry and let it air dry
