How to TUNE your Ebike // Fardriver+ANT BMS Configuration

In this video I go over how I configured my ANT BMS and Fardriver 72530 motor controller for use on my 72V QS205 DIY Enduro Ebike. These principles may also apply to Surrons, Talarias, and other high power ebikes with upgraded controllers. Let me know if I missed anything in the comments!

    Super setup advice! One thing: No dead zone and 224 degrees of throttle step are an accidental ghost bike into a wall moment waiting to happen. Leave some head room in the low and halve the step until it’s too granular (progressive) for you. I stay under 30 steps for walking mode at quarter throttle. Great work keep it up!

    Hey, your wheel size is 26 fat? Same as my enduro. What tires are those? And are your spokes 12g? If they are 12g, how safe and stable is it going at higher speeds? As in over 38mph?

  • @JZEV1

    @JZEV1

    11 ай бұрын

    The rim is stated as a 19 but I think with tire it’s closer to 25-26 OD something like that . I don’t think it’s a fat tire, they call it “turtle” street tire. It performs pretty well at all speeds, my only issue is they aren’t perfectly balanced, so past about 50mph the vibration/imbalance becomes noticeable. Need to balance the front wheel and also motorwheel at some point.

    @@JZEV1a simple wheel true will fix that. i hit 80km/h on my new one recently. it's 26 inch 4.0 fat tires, 12g spokes. i did true them before i headed out though, didn't notice any shaking...just worried of a catastrophic failure at high speeds since i am heavy (240lbs) but I've searched everywhere and haven't heard of 12g spokes failing on enduros...anywhere.

    Don't think you have your ratios in speed definition/usage correct. From what I was told this tells the ecu when to turn on the weak and what percentage of weak to use. With it set at 100% its telling the ecu to use 100% battery power and no weak. Does your ECU show you going into weak mode ever with those settings? If you put them all to say 80% it would use 80% of the battery and 20% weak etc... At least thats how it was explained to me.

    Dont do it Man!!! Dont mess with specs man!! You will face a fire unlike any other you have seen! Yeah it works after doing these DIY Hacker tricks but time leads to specs being off from the safety range of power being induced to all 3 components of motor, battery and controller. Yeah its fine after 2 days but man, your shit will explode if not rapid fire. These DIY videos done to impress but its a lure of a fire yet to come. Why do you think e bike makers have different and various spec ranges of their set ups? Im sure some guys know their stuff but only until they find out later of the mistakes and will not do a follow up from being possibly sued or worst Agents at your door of serious mis information laws...

    I believe it controls how much weakening is used (spinning motor faster) and that lower values = more magnetic weakening and more Rpm. I think 0 is the most but I’m not positive.
