Hi! I have a couple of questions. You say a good starting budget is $50 a day for testing, is this specific to a certain industry? Say e-commerce or a brand with national reach? What if it's a local small business that only services the immediate area, would a lower budget of say $10 - $20 a day work for that? Also, when you mention analyzing your creatives to make iterations you say "we're starting to see results and we have a few winners and few things that didn't work so well" How can you tell what's a winner and what doesn't work so well? What numbers are you looking for? clicks, reach, cpc? Especially if you're using CBO and it's just not spending on certain ads, does that mean the ad isn't working? Thanks in advance

How do you test for MOFU and BOFU creative - who's audiences are going to be custom instead? And second question, do you scale your broad spend by scaling the winners in your experiment campaign or do you have a separate broad campaign you transfer the winners to? Thanks as always.

Quick question, if I have two campaigns (one to test new ads & one to run winning ads) that have the same audience (using mainly broad, most of US, and age 45-65+), will there be an issue of audience overlap and affect their performance? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Your materials are great! I am starting with my new shop and was thinking to use Agency to help me with campaigns, but all interviews I had, they are still using interest, remarketing, etc...wonder if they are outdated or more advanced ;) I rather prefer simplicity and the way how you show this speaks to me better (I am from the old times marketer, already 15 yrs in ecomm, but try to learn new things). now wonder, if how to structure for my shop with more SKUs. want to do some creative test but maybe at the beginning it iwll be better to do catalog ads - as you mentionned in this video. Thank you for your feedback if possible :)

👋 re: iterations - quick question! @DaraDenney How do you test the iterations? Eg. I have just run a new creative test in a new ad set, and have a clear winner. I've come up with iterations that I want to test next. Do I add those creatives into the original ad set? Or create a new ad set for the iterations, and leave the original ad set alone/attempt to scale it? I'm a founder and learn so much from your videos - thank you 🙏

Hello Dara, thanks for the video! Just one question: Have you seen that meta spends all the daily budget of the adset in just one ad and the other ads get no spend? When that happens, do you assume that Meta is right and the other ads were likely to perform worse or do you manually turn off the ad that is getting all the budget just to see how the others work? Sometimes I feel like my tests are not working because some ads are not even getting the chance from Meta.

The one thing I don't see in none of the videos is that she says when testing, you create adsets for each ad your testing. Now my question is, can i use different creatives in each ad set while using 2 or 3 primary texts and 2 or 3 call to actions? Or should i use the same single primary texts and same CTA for each ad set / creative i am testing? This is the only thing i am missing. I have experience in fb ads, but this is a new store, so how should i go about this? PLEASE HELP! THANK YOU

3:2:2 method with broad targeting is the only thing we're using now, and occasionally an A+ shopping campaign. The problem with A+ campaigns is they tend to focus more on mid/bottom funnel which, from past experience has made them less consistent/fatigue faster even though results are typically good short term.

Dara, great video but how would you modify the testing with a new brand without any real customer data. This makes great sense when there is data to assess but as a new brand what defines a successful creative with very little data. Also would you recommend a new brand to open up as broadly as possible to test or would it make more sense if we know our target customer to start there? Thank you for putting these videos out!

Hey Dara, I am facing a challenge with a client and I wanted to get your professional opinion on it. My client suggests that when we do creative testing, we should look at secondary metrics first like CTR%, Hook rates and hold rates instead of the main conversion metric like CPL or ROAS. His rationale is that CPMs change depending on Meta. But, the CTR and Hook/Hold rate would be a better indicator of performance early on and lets us iterate on the creatives faster. Whereas, what I think makes more sense, which is to look at CPL and then up the funnel at secondary metrics as an indicator/benchmark for further creative reiterations. However, he says that this approach needs much more $ for testing phase otherwise way too biased to “luck”. And that the only ones who move to next rounds happen to get the “first lead” - which might not indicate a strong ad. He’s under the notion that the best ads have the best CTR%, hook rate and hold rate. But, I believe that these secondary metrics correlate very little to CPL success (except maybe hook rates) and are to be used more for creative iteration benchmarking. What do you think?

Hey Dara! Your content is incredibly valuable, and I truly appreciate how you stay on trend with all things Facebook ads. Last year, after three years of not using Facebook ads, I implemented your strategy and campaign structure for my new campaigns, and the results have been fantastic. Despite being influenced by other Facebook ads teachers, I stick with your structure because it allows me to test my ads more effectively. For instance, my winning ads are carousels, and your structure enables me to test them properly, unlike DCT's, which don't work with this format. I'm curious about your insights on testing different ad formats such as single image, carousel, and collection ads. Should I create separate ad sets for each format? Additionally, I'm interested in your scaling strategy for 2024. Could you share when and by how much you typically increase/decrease budgets for ASC+?

Nice video ! Thx you. How you process for test audiences ? For example in high ticket, we don’t convert in first time, so it’s difficult to validate or not an audiences 😅 And actually DABA don’t work in this account Thx a lot !

How do you define success for test creatives, compared to the business-as-usual ads / evergreen winners? Do you just roll winning test variants into evergreen to see how they perform or do you use benchmarks?

So I've been working with a client who is running a lot of creative but with a 5k monthly budget, it feels like overkill to have a testing campaign. I just have add new creatives to the core campaign. Is there any value in test campaigns at this scale?

Question. I have a main campaign. It has 2 video ads working well. I have my testing campaign. Inside the testing campaign, I might find a winner. What am I doing with it? Leaving it to run & scale within that testing campaign? or am I adding it to my main campaign and turning it off inside the testing campaign even tho it's working?

Hi, thanks for the valuable info! I have a question though. How do you determine a winner among ad variants within one ad set, if the AB testing takes place on the ad set level? Since you AB test two or more different ad sets, ads in each ad set are shown to a separate part of your audience. But the ads within on ad set will be shown to the same users, and the results may not be objective. Or am I missing something?
