There's nothing more wonderful than the sound of whiskey being spoken about... BY Richard Paterson, into my ears.

Ok so how much air are you supposed to pull into your mouth along with the sip? I had a friend tell me to try and have absolutely no air in your mouth when you sip so as to prevent the alcohol burn from happening. I found it very hard to actually do. Is that a real thing or should I just be taking a regular sip?

Question? Why are you pouring expensive whisky in the glass and then throwing it out? Cant you just wash the glass? I myself can't afford throwing out good whisky.

take a tasting glass, shake it and smell it. if it smells anything other than "nothing" swing away with what you're drinking. water would dilute the taste, so shake glass with the product what u want to drink, with a very small sip and throw it away. But you only do this when you try the new whisk(e)y for the first time to explore and get to know all its subtleties.

Chocolate orange? Marmalade spice? Pretentious bullshit. It smells like whisky but unfortunately not like whiskey. Spare me...

@@nateg6525 I can't taste it either haha the alcohol burn covers any flavor... at least I cannot taste it yet. I'm trying to learn to enjoy and detect the flavors in whisky. But I get where this dude is coming from.

@@poling1990 start with smooth whiskys depending on the budget i would suggest irish or japanese whisk(e)ys cuz they are more smooth. if u want a scotch try glenmorangie nectar'dor or dalwhinnie they are "smooth" as a scotch can get. another good "smooth whiskys in my opinion are the ones that matured in ex sherry or sauterne casks
