How to taper for a marathon? I’ve done 40 of them || 1 week from London Marathon!

One week out from the London Marathon of 2024 and I thought I’d share my tapering tips from what I’ve learnt throughout my 40 marathons that I’ve completed. It’s taken a lot of trial and error, as well as a lot of perseverance to understand the benefits of the taper.
You’ve got to trust the process and believe in your training so far, to truly benefit from the taper. They’re easy to get wrong but even easier to get right. Letting your body recover from all of the recent stress and training that it has endured, might just benefit you even more come race day! Tapering isn’t a secret or an art you have to master. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.
Getting the taper right could be your secret to success on race day.
