Great video Greg. I just want to say that I just got my Miata a few months ago, and within the last week I just finished replacing the timing belt and water pump thanks to your awesome tutorial video. It took me 20 hours to replace the timing belt and water pump although I am only 16. This was also the first time I have ever worked on a car before and I did it with no help and minimal tools. My number one piece of advice for someone with no experience like me would be find a friend or acquaintance who has worked on cars before and have them help you. (P.S. I live in Florida and have no garage so another thing I learned is that I need to buy one of those tailgating tents and a big fan lol.)

New Intro is goooolden dude. Right now my miata is still waiting for wheels and tires but i want to run a more or less conventional 15*8 setup since with german TÜV-requirements there is a thing called a "Verschränkungstest" that you would neeeever Pass with that setup you run but you'd have to or no road legality.

Great video on fitment and getting more. Saving it for future reference. My NB is currently on 15X8 6ULs with 205/50 tires. It's a very nice street setup as is , the car is lowered and there is no rubbing at all. I like it but I want wider once these are worn. With those wheels I plan on going to 225/45 all around. Maybe this summer, it will depend on how much I get to use the car, right now my "touring season" (road trips and vacations) is looking grim because of that damn virus.

I had to roll the fenders, because i was going into an uphill parking lot turning right, and braking. Instantly grabbed the lip and pulled it down. luckily it didnt bacon the fender.

I did exactly just this a couple years ago. I rock 15x10 6ULs and 145 Maxxis tires on my NB2. My advice would be to cut the tab at that top of the fender lip before rolling and pulling. I actually ended up taking my car to a fab shop and having them make a pie cut in the front fender so I could pull it out just a tad bit more and now I have all the clearance I need.

I've been stuck between a 15x9 & 15x10. As AR-1's are pretty much the only tyre I can get in the UK in those sizes and seeing how nicely they fit on the video, I might go with 15x10's. But I'm only pushing 305bhp so they might be overkill. But they look beastly! Great video!

But in the future I really want to run, 205/40 front & 215/40 rear so I can lower it a little bit more for a cleaner look. I have watched your videos about rolling fenders and thanks to you, my miata looks the way it is now. Haha but fitment industry was the reason for the wheel/tire setup. 😅

Im running a very conservative set up, 15x8 on 205s with +25 offset, im not SUPER low (probably around 1.5 fingers of wheel gap) but surprisingly this still would rub on fender liner at full lock (like in parking lots) and squeak super loud so i removed it. You could just notch out the section of fenderliner but living in southern california it wasnt much of a worry for me. I just pull my wheels off and clean out the fender well every few washes. Loving my current fitment but will eventually need adjustable upper control arms in the back due to too much negative camber for my liking. *I do have a mild fender roll*

Had a 1999 10.Anni with 195/ 50 R 15 Hankook RS 3- 222 Semi slicks. Was OK, enough grip for all situations on a public road. Was also runnig perfect straight at full speed here in no speed limit Germany. Test drove the latest NB with 205 - tires. Straight line performance was not perfect so it seems 195/50 is the best compromise for a ( stock / Bilstein ) NB Miata if driven full speed. Now I have a ND with street legal big brake kit front ( K sport forged 4 pot ) so it was necessary to add 20 mm spacer for clearence the calipers to the stock 17" aloys what I want to keep. Actually I just bought a 2. set of stock 17" alloys for semi slicks. Straight line performance is still OK with the 205/45 tires, dont want a lower profile to prevent demages. Car has also the stiffer springs from Eibach ( Mazda - original item here in Germany ) and Bilsteins from factory.

Got some Japan Racing JR3 15x8 with 205 50 on it with a +25 offset. would love to run a 225 but will have to play with offset a bit i think. (in Germany we have to stick to the stock circumference of the tire ) Have a very minimum roll on the fenders (partly because i f*ed it up with too tall of a roler and do not want to roll more) and tugged the liner tabs in a little to clear in the front. Been following since the old days and love the content Greg. Please keep it up! - cant wait to get my DIY Ebay turbo kit finished and shared on insta (Thanks for the Story share btw :) Much love from Germany

Hey Greg! Very useful. I’ve just welded new sills and rear wings into SPJ and flared them to death. The info you give on the front was really useful as I want to run 15x10 as the fatter the wheel the Phatter the car will look. I actually flared all the rear by welding in the new rear fender then I hand built the upper inner arch afterwards so the fender was alot more flexible when I was pushing it out. I guess your recommendation on actually having the wheels first is a great idea. Maybe I’ll do this before I get SPJ painted up. I’m just super pleased I’ll be able to run 10’s not 9’s on this! (SPJ is mk2.5’s name = Shitty Pants Johnson and boy was she shitty)

Looks amazing, but this is a little hardcore for me. It's why I ultimately chose 15x7 6ULs with a 195 width tire. For a street car with stock power, this is more than enough and it's pretty much plug-n-play for any year Miata. I have yet to hear or see any rub with completely stock fenders/liners. It doesn't get you too much street cred, but tire options are plenty for a 15" wheel and it looks far better than the stock daises that so many NA6s came with. I also like the extra ground clearance they gave me, because streetcar. In the future, with more disposable income, I could see going to an 8" or even a 9" inch wide wheel. For now, I'm pretty content with the setup.

Been running NB1 wheels with 205's (not aggro) just fitted some 205/50/15 rivals (retired, hue, autoX tires) to a set of 15x7.5 +35 Dekagrams (class limit for wheels) I race on 15x7.5 +35 225/45/15 rivals (class limit on wheels and tires). Only a light roll in the rear, and tabs pulled in the front.

Love the videos please keep them coming, Have an NB and looking at running Advan RG-D2 15x8 with some Toyo Proxes 225/45ZR15, the wheels come in +28 and +35 offsets. Would like to run the +28 offset as I’d like a deeper dish look to the wheel than the +35 gives but was wondering if it would take a lot of roll and pull on the fender to get little or no rub with the 28s

Currently I'm running 15x8 with a 205/50R15 and I was looking forward to run some 15x10 like you do. The problem is, that I live in Germany and we've got very strict laws for modified cars, so a rubbing wheel is just a thing we can not drive around with. I guess I have to shoot for 15x9 now :(

work meister cr01 15x10 +7, poke setup, wheels don't clear my 6 piston wilwoods. this setup worked fine on my previous miata with autokonexion flares but they went out of business, so i got rid of the flares. now i need new wheels.

Wish I could go bigger than my current setup but not entirely wanting to sacrifice the inner fender liner as its my daily and I could imagine shit flicking up especially as its lower than stock. Considering just doing a lil' negative camber which could hopefully help. You should do a stock camber adjustment video if you dont already have one, thanks! Tyre size is 205/45 R 17 :)

I love my 15x7.5 TR motorsports CM's, wrapped in some 205/50R15 Yomohama S.drive's. It's not the craziest thing in the world, but I don't rub at all with my Tien coils on their lowest possible setting so I'm happy

Gliss On unrolled fenders, about 1/2 a finger (1/4 inch, not much at all) of wheel gap, and they are inboard of the fender by maybe 1/2 an inch. Looks very clean, functional, but not rediculously stanced

@@Glissskate That setup will be very fitted. I used to run 15x8 +0 with 205/50's and the fitment was so good. Decent amount of fender work required in order to be at a lower ride height.
