The inverse relationship between exercise and anxiety works for humans too, as you rightly point out. There’s nothing like a good walk with the dog(s) to make you see things clearer and stop you worrying. It’s then just wonderful to snuggle up with your tired dog on the settee when you get home.

Good reminder Stonnie! That half of the learning is about how to get ready for the adventure, how to travel to and from, and how to unpack and put things away afterwards. What you’re teaching the dogs and the kids is not just about what happens at the adventure spot. Thanks again!

There’s a lot of dog walks I got to go on alone as a kid that make sense now. “You’re old enough! I trust you to walk the dog to the store, pick-up a treat, and come home” wouldn’t you know I was extra careful and proud to be responsible. Plus the car was packed when we got back. 😂😂 I’ll share this with my dad and mom for sure they’ll get a laugh.

Always a good reminder…loading the crew up for adventures can be stressful;)…have definitely had success packing the gear and making them wait 10-15 minutes before we go…they will eventually sit down and be patient…thx uncle Stonnie!

I've got that situation every morning as I get ready to get going for walks, outdoor painting, shopping... my dogs is with me to all these things, and while I get packed, I throw him treats around to search for, while I take my sweet time.

I have 3 long lines because I have left behind mine and had to stop and get new one (only one dog so he gets to go into pet stores, which is another adventure in itself)

I know a lot of labs look alike but that small black lab that sat in front of you while everyone else took off looks and acts just like my girl. I probably would have had trouble telling them apart if they were together 😂

Hi Stonnie, A while back you introduced a dog to running along side a bicycle. Can you post in your notes again the name of the company that makes the springer attachment to the bicycle

the best way to take the stress out of dog training is to buy an appropriate breed for your needs from a breeder breeding the characteristics you want and select the puppy from the litter that suits your desires. by about 5-6 weeks the characteristics of each pup are already on display and that's what you'll be working with for a lifetime.

Te most chill and easy train labs I’ve used all came from searching shelters. So needing a bred puppy is just a preference, not an actual guarantee of behavior or love of adventure training.

Two quick questions: Have you found a good tick protection for your dogs? We are trying to find a stud for our lab and was wondering if you have a stud or have any recommendations. We are looking for a smaller black lab or a yellow lab.
