I use anki for medical terminology, quick facts & key terms , I use the syllabus content section & power point to take notes from class & take more notes based off what the professor said . & after I read over everything once , I do practice questions on the back of the chapter, ati, & test bank .

This is great!! Your binder looks just like mine, I seperated by weeks initially, but as we went along, I then organized by tests. I Also take notes by writing because as you said, the writing it helps me remember it better than when I type it. Taking notes also ensures I have read the chapter. It is quite time consuming but worth it. So Many people in my class have brought up the issue of not knowing "How" to study. This is a very common problem and Im so glad you have made a video on this. Also, watching KZread videos on any topic I am studying is a game changer for me. So far, note taking, videos, hands on practicing and teaching to my family has served me well, Acing all exams thus far. Thanks girl!!!

Also, I forgot to mention, yesss you hit such a good point about memorization. I knew lots of classmates that didn't understand why they werent doing well on tests when they worked so hard to memorize the information. All the questions are application questions so you have to learn how to apply what you know and use strategies like ABCs, the nursing process ADPIE, Maslows Hierarchy of Needs, and notice the key words in the questions such as best, priority, initial, and oay attention to what its specifically asking. Really, sooo glad you made this video.

Thank you Nessa! I'm glad you find my tips helpful and you are already finding success using some of the tips. Learning how to study was my biggest challenge in nursing school. Once I found my groove, I aced all my exams and I felt so good because I really understood the material. When you start to understand the material, its actually really interesting. It wasn't boring for me, so that helped. This video was inspired by a student who reached out to me on IG @nurse.erica_youtube stating that she didn't know how to study. Please feel free to share with your classmates. My goal to help students find a way to succeed. I love hearing from you all and being a part of your journey. Keep in touch!

This has been the best advice video thus far. One problem I have is my fundamentals professor don't give powers she said we don't need them to read the chapters. Any advice on that not to mention she talks fast so it's hard to keep up with note taking

Hi Ciara, thank you for your feedback. Happy to help! A lot of instructors are moving away from pp. I would say use your syllabus and class objectives as your guide. If she talks really fast, it might be a good idea to record the lectures if she allows and go back to listen to them. Most recorders can slow down the speed. Hope this helps! Please feel free to share with your classmates.

Hi Basia, congratulations on starting nursing school and kudos to you for being proactive. I would look to see what resources you already paid for. Many nursing schools have students purchase resources such as ATI, Kaplain, course pt. If you do not have one of those I recommend Saunders, you can purchase an older edition on Amazon. Be sure to buy one that has the rationale to the questions. There are also several online websites with free questions. Good luck!

Unfortunately. In my program. Most of the professors use power points to teach. But then say that we are responsible for all the reading material because the information will be out of the books even though the professor didn't go over it
