Thank you so much for this. I was with my nurse the other day and I had to push morphine ml and she pulled in a bigger syringe. I accidentally pushed it too fast that my patient felt it. Bad I know. Luckily me, my patient was a end stage cancer patient who was in constant pain and needed morphine with break-through fentanyl dose around the clock. He definitely felt the medication pushed through but if it was in another patient I would have been in big trouble. I see how my nurse didn't set me up for success and I will consider this and question their judgement. I was a Covid student and this was something we didn't go over in lab.

I use 20 gauge needles, and like your patients, I didn't like seeing it at first. Also choose syringes according to how many ml are being administered helped me in accuracy. Like, measuring 1ml in a 10ml syringe is not good, but in a 1ml syringe, I can be more accurate.

I'm long overdue a Tdap booster. My last was 28 years ago 😲. My doctor and my wife are both bound and determined to make me take it next visit. My sister is an RN and told me the needle will probably be 23G and 1- 1/2" long based on my body mass! I'm dreading it. The nurse at my doctor's office I've been told is quite good giving shots. I hope she's quick, because I am so not wanting this. LOL..I guess the one saving grace is the needle is sharp as a razor, so maybe I won't feel much. The stuff being injected probably stings like hell.
