My CX stock cups pop right out on their own with little or no effort. I just received the CX Riptide cups on 2/23 from your store and added some wax shavings anyways as a preventative measure. Will be trying them out tomorrow. I’m using Bones Big Balls on the Roundhouse wheels, your Riptide yellow 90a bushings and flat washers to replace the cupped all the way around and it’s truly a dreamy ride even before the Riptide cup change out. I think flat washers are under-considered when skaters are fine tuning their boards. I find zero negative effects on forward momentum with flat washers, and that may be attributable to the Riptide bushings having a little more rebound in their formulas. Great video! 👍

@@prestonriddle1780 flat washer allow more compress of the bushings when you lean, so the rail to rail lean the CX for good example will a little greater. The trade off is supposed to be that you experience less rebound when you are pumping the board to or recovering from a turn. I am using riptide bushings and have felt more lean for real sharp carving, but have not noticed any loss of forward momentum at all. The cups are supposed to re center the trucks coming off a leaning maneuver with more rebound. The went back and forth with cupped vs flat washers until I decided that I was not losing any pumping efficiency. I don’t do a lot of distance pumping. I ride a couple of small ditches or carve around some small flat tight spaces, so for me I favor the deep leaning technical carving.

@@prestonriddle1780 First off, I apologize for the horribly written response earlier; it needed some serious editing! I’m only 5’8” and under 160lbs, so I actually SHOULD be riding the softer duro bushings. You’re at least the second person who’s found the softer bushings, designed for lighter people (at least in theory) have transformed their board’s performance. I need to step down to the 85’s I believe. At that point it will probably necessitate me returning to the stock cupped washers for stability. I skated ramps and parks in the 70s-80’s and always preferred the trucks very loose for maneuverability. Thanks for sharing your experience!

In a pinch, the screw + screwdriver + pliers trick also works to open a wine bottle, if you're lacking a corkscrew.

In the mechanics trade, when one needs to install or remove a part into/on/from a tight fitting hole or a tight fitting shaft, heating or cooling one or both parts is an easy way to make a difficult job into an easy one. E.g. a bearing is heated up in an oven, then it can slide right onto a shaft (which would require a press fit otherwise). In our case, the truck and the pivot cup are made of different materials. So I have a theory (that I haven't tested yet): heat or cool the truck/pivot cup assembly, and then it should come out much easier. I don't know the exact materials the pivot cups and trucks are made of, but I am guessing it's (poly-)urethane or some kind of plastic for the pivot cups, and some kind of alumium alloy for the truck. Looking up coefficients of thermal expansion for these materials, it seems that the pivot cup would expand more than the truck when heated, so heating the whole part would make the fit more tight, but cooling it will make it more loose. So, my theory is, put the truck in the freezer, and then the pivot cup should come out easily. I'm waiting for a new set of YOW trucks to be delivered, and will try this theory when it comes.

Hey Steve... I'm live in Australia and an avid Surfskater, Longboarder and Mountain Biker... so I'm always looking for products that work well across all seasons and all sports. I find MUC-OFF BIO GREASE fits the bill and ticks all the boxs... it's also waterproof and biodegradable. One product + mutliple uses = fantastic! PS: Keep up the great work you're doing 😎👍

Aye bro , my c7 isn’t as snappy . I’ve adjusted it a few times. I’m going to take it apart soon. But I’m assuming the spring is worn out. My bushings are torn/cracked and lean to one side as well. My deck is water logged and the grip is well worn out. Should I just invest in a new carver? My cousin gave me this carver and I love it. But the action is poor and run down. Lmk your the pro.
