The only thing that is appearing to stop you from enlightenment/self-realization/eternal life/knowing yourself to be unconditional love is identification with thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences instead of being aware of being aware and knowing yourself to be that unconditional love pure consciousness in which all thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences appear but are not inherently one with you; they are an expression of unconditional love; you are that infinite that is expressing itself as suffering/pleasure but inherently you are neither; you are that nothing/unconditional love/pure consciousness in which they are appear and by which they are perceived; Suffering/pleasure comes and goes; there is an awareness that is aware of them coming and going; that you are; remember and know what you are; never identify with anything that is appearing within you; since it appears within you; it can't be you; you are that in which it appears. When you abide as that in which it appears instead of identifying; nothing has a grip on you; if anything comes; it quickly goes; like clouds passing; only if you identify as a cloud then it will appear as if the cloud is here for longer than it is originally supposed to; if you simply rest as the awareness and do not identify; it will quickly dissolve; be unconditional love by being aware of being aware; this is the highest; this is what you are seeking in absolutely everything else; you are seeking yourself; you are seeking unconditional love; but you are looking outside of yourself; instead of being aware that you already are unconditional love. When i was 10 years old our grandma taught us (me, my sister and cousins) how to fall asleep properly and nicely. She was speaking to us before sleep: "feel your feets and relax them.. feel your belly and relax it.. feel your hands and relax them.. knees, shoulders, cheeks, eyes, .. " continue with every part of your body (it's good to go from bottom to up).. until you will fall asleep. It works great ^^

When I was younger I used think I needed to listen to the thoughts and try to solve whatever I was thinking about. Then when I got older I realized how silly that was. As he says you first need the awareness that you're not going to solve any problems by worrying at night. I don't think that trying to redirect the thoughts are the answer though. I also used to try and do that and it would often lead to an even worse thought or I would just get more aggravated that the thoughts weren't going away and that would keep me awake even more. Nowadays I just let the thoughts run in and out of my mind but I just don't pay them any attention. I know they're there but I don't care. I just focus on relaxing and getting comfortable. If I've been laying in bed more than 20 minutes without falling asleep, I get up and do something until I'm sleepy again. That almost never happens anymore. Your mind is a tool for you to use, not the other way around. I hope this helps someone with a similar problem.

Your solution unconditional love? It's clearly not human nature If it was, it would be more atttainable . And history wouldn't keep repeating itself.. For instance there wouldn't be Plandemics , wars and self inflicted misery. Right now human collective consciousness is in the toilet ! And what we are observing is history repeating itself. Many around the world are in deep prayer day and night to no avail. What we see daily in our awakening are the Elitists prevail and people in power are purely evil to continue the inflicting laws. Is that self love falling into bad peoples hands ? The old saying saying " the meek shall inherit the earth " seems futile or has been left to a different interpretation.

What I do is get up, grab my spiral notebook and a pen and I write it all out as a sort of stream of consciousness “brain drain”. After about 20 minutes or 1-2 pages my mind slows way down and I go back to sleep. If I want to sit there in presence it is much easier at that point but I feel that whatever is going around my mind has to be expressed and putting it out on the page seems to be what it needs.

Maybe ASMR sleep talk could also work for if you, for me personally I get too into what ppl are saying, and it only works if the volume is the closest to 0 so that I can barley hear it. This way I tend to focus out of it and just hear some words, I'm also experimenting with listening to languages that I don't speak, however that is still only a way to distract myself so I should probably try to find a healthier habbit ( It's like the classic sleeping with the TV on; I could fall asleep any night within minutes if I would rewatch The Office, I liked the series so much that I used it's themesong as my alarm sound for about 2 years to make myself want to get out of bed:)))) PS: I still love that song and my gf won't watch the office with me now because I made her hate it through my alarm xD)

I do not get any deep sleep but I find that time lapses fast till morning shows up without being unnecessarily worried and bored. Previously an hour of sleeplessness in this condition would look too long, say frightening 3 hours and now time passes quickly and peacefully.

ThIis is a very practical video to help with coping with the racing mind. I get so desperate to want to sleep and rid of the pain from the hurt. It is comforting to know I might not be going crazy if it appears other people feel the same way regarding the racing mind. If Eckhart has to discuss the topic then there are others trying to learn to cope as well. It really is difficult...when one feels so sad inside. Thank you for uploading this video. I have bookmarked it to refer to it to help. Cheers from Canada.

One thing that helps me is to listen to sleep podcast at low volume. My favourite is Sleep with Me which is just a guy with a funny voice rambling semi-nonsensically for an hour. After using it for a while, it has become comforting to me and I look forward to getting into bed and listening to this voice. It helps "dissipate" my thoughts and makes it easier to fall asleep. It doesn't always work but many times it does. Other podcasts can work too, or maybe listening to Eckhart Tolle. As long as you don't get too engaged with the content and not really actively listening.

I know that I need this practice to get rid of those terrible thoughts, even though the anxiety symptoms occur sporadically and without any knowledge of what I am thinking at the time.
