my husband told me something alike once he was always raging about some societal issue and I told him i did not want to debate like that anymore always going for 2 hours complaining about what people do or don't do. Then he said "If everybody body thinks like you nothing will ever be done" and I said do you think you're doing more about it by talking about it to me in our living room? 😉 the thing our ego can make us think that we have control or that we are useful or helping only because we talk about an issue. I said if I don't think I can or will really do something there is no point of talking about it (of course we can talk a little but I mean debate again and again or complain)

Yes! That's an illusion...the ranting about others, is focus on external locus of control. Not only does it further program our mind to hold onto our "beliefs" and make other people, other beliefs, the problem and to blame...we are spending time on a gerbil wheel of suffering! It actually is "doing" something...but it usually is ineffective, often increasing harm! It's an illusion, an unacknowledged anxiety within oneself, that causes one to look outward and waste time/energy on complaining. If that same person worked on deep breathing, mindfulness, meditation, being in the moment...it's a far better use of time. Being vs doing. I do realize my contradiction of self...by even commenting here. That I'm suggesting what someone else should do 😂 At least I see it & admit it! Have a beautiful day🌸

@Lucy Rane Oh yes, some of it, you could argue, even much worse evil now in some cases. - You do what you have to do - that I think will always apply. However, what old man Tolle and others here are pointing at, is the underlying cause creating this "evil" and that is...unconcoiusness. Becoming fully conscious is, in essence, our purpose in this life experience and whether you're the "evil" or the "victim", that purpose remains. In this life or the next.

@Lucy Rane I wrestled with the same quandary at a point, so I understand where you're coming from. The contrast arises from identifying with who we "think" we are and who we actually are. What's likely is that - who you think you are - (your unconscious mind) wants to speak truth to power and stand up for what's "right." And again, you have to do what you have to do, and at times this may be exactly what's needed, but here's the rub... where does it end? The answer: It never ends. Why? Because Right and Wrong are part of the same coin. How? Because How do you know what's right without the wrong? You can't... hence the reality of duality. So then what to do? Do what old man Tolle says, BE conciousness first, then your action will be right.

I agree with what you’re saying, however I would word it differently. Your stand is to focus on your consciousness, which impacts humanity in a more positive way than identifying with left or right and getting into arguments does. You are the lighthouse, which stands on the rocks above the calamitous sea, guiding people to shore with your light. That is a stand! To say “I won’t take a stand” is to deny that you already have, and to deny your power and impact on all of humanity.

Losing one's self to a thought form, opinion or idea will result in decisions and actions made through the filter of the thought or idea. The filter, by its nature, prevents the awareness of the whole truth. If we are not deciding and acting from a space of truth, we act from a space of confusion, not clarity. How do your decisions and actions transform when you act from clarity? This is the frequency we need to hold for all others. 🙏♥️

I tell them that my stance is in Spirituality and I tell them what they need to hear. My stance is in the Self.
