I liked the part about singing. I am very antisocial, and the fact that I took a serving job at an upscale place, is just beyond me. Yesterday was my 2nd day ever serving. I was really scared man. But I'm a good honest person and I have great hygiene, and so far it's been an awesome experience. It beats the hell out of cooking or doing construction type work. My trainer told one of my tables yesterday that it was my first day on my own, and the old couple from Canada, looked at me and said "Zak, your coworker tells us that's it's your first time serving" I said Yes sir, and then he said " why in the hell are you so good at it?" That was a huge confidence booster and I wasn't sure how to respond. Thanks for the video! Keep it up.

He is spot on about getting dental work done. I had messed up teeth my whole life I couldn't smile in front of people or even in pictures. I went to get a full fledged teeth sugery done on my top 6 teeth. It boosted my confidence and appearance exponentially! It was quite pricy around 600 to 800 a tooth but it was for the better. It helped me in my career field as well as personal life. I am now dating a beautiful woman, someone I wouldn't ever dream of getting. It's all about improvi g your appearance and how you carry yourself. So if you are reading this take this into consideration and always try to better yourself. Take care and God bless

A lot of these things were already in my mind but you just made them stick out so much more and it helps hearing someone else who knows how it works, say it thank you so much and I will be applying these to my job soon, I am a naturally shy person when it comes to talking to new people, so what you said at the end really helped me because I didn’t know what to do. Yay... being "forced" to work with people.... but life and school never dealt you the options to apply for something better. I can clarify in needed, or wanted.

Don't casually brag about it. You could have said you went into a fine dining restaurant and got a new job as server, but it's clear you're enjoying getting by on your looks. Well, that's one big reason I quit waiting tables, because that attitude is one of entitlement. I hope you watch my videos and pay attention to the fundamentals, because a woman's looks fade fast and then she can't get shifts.

  • @SariennMusic73

Wait. What? All she said was she got hired at an upscale restaurant and is nervous. Nothing was said or implied about her bragging or about her looks. Seriously?! A simple "that's excellent news, congrats to you and you'll do great!" would have been a proper reply. No where did she say "omg I got this top restaurant job because I'm so hot and the manager couldn't keep his eyes off meeeeee"....... She stated facts in a just the facts, ma'am kind of way. She's nervous and wants what anyone in those shoes would want: :encouragement.

+Holly Sochocki +TrueGritProductions Year old, but figured I'd give my two cents for some perspective if any of you see this. From an independent perspective: I watched the video. I read Holly's comment. I immediately induced an err of 'humble-bragging'. Something quite common within 99% of people i've come across; people love to talk about themselves when things are going well, yet hate to dissect why it is that reality is playing out in such a way. The patting-ones-self on the back is an illusory, emotionally backed mechanism to boost one's self confidence. Your comment was NOT to "compliment" the youtuber's video as you alluded to in a later reply; it was clearly to brag, whether conscious or semi-conscious the act. The gentleman decided to call you out on your bullshit. I laughed out loud as I read his reply, as it is so uncommon to see in this effeminate culture- praising women on the true underlining premise of their looks, sexual appeal, and their leveraging value within the sect of male-female relations, the latter due to the recently acquired freedoms and rights, without their corresponding responsibility and accountability. Perhaps we both "misconstrued" your intentions as you propose. But there's a better chance he's not a crazy misogynistic cynic if someone comments to back up his statement. As to why I am the only one? The adage states: "Men don't challenge women...because they want to fuck them". If the youtuber does read this, he probably won't value my response, as no self respecting man would need the external validation as many women do, but I digress...just felt like pitching in. :)

Now one thing I am wondering about. I‘m a lot at my tables to doublecheck, triple and quadruple check if everything is alright and if they need anything else. (This is my first job and I‘m a people pleaser) And i think because of the doublechecking I do tend to get overwhelmed quite quickly and I feel like I‘m not helping others as much as i could. I fall behind with sidework and tend to forget things when i‘m overwhelmed... is there a like a decent rule of thumb as to how often you should check your tables? Is it just the lacking experience? Am i overdoing it? I hope you know what I mean. Anyway thank you for this video i‘ll make sure to keep your tips in mind ^^

Hello there, I watch a couple of your video. Awesome, I study a bit of breathing and anatomy and you focus when humming probably cos you engage your diaphragm that stable your core and your shoulder giving you more control over your arms. It is a great advice.

Yeah that's normal. This is why it's good to take a food runner position (which not many people want) at a fancy restaurant, learn the menu and the flow, then attempt to get another job, as a server, at a corporate chain value restaurant at the same time. You leverage your experience that way even though it's not direct server experience. And while you run food at the fancy restaurant, you attempt to learn the menu at the same time.

another lose for the upsell is they spend your tip on the suggested item, though that likely doesn't happen often enough to justify not upselling.

you need to switch restaurants if you run into that... I never encountered that. The proper upsell is just mentioning better items in case they want it

i see where your coming from on the being healthy side but ive had plenty of servers that were bigger and gave EXCEPTIONAL service,, my aunt was also a server for 20 plus years and was 320 lbs and always got requested by guests and made a boatload of money serving appearances can only take you so far ,, I myself am a server and if you ask me its all about personality and being attentive to the guest

Learn to use your non dominant arm! This arm gets less use over all so it's less likely to be injured day to day. If you learn to use it the you can switch back and forth. I actually prefer to carry with my left arm now but I can still use my right arm if I need to. Start off with small trays with small drinks (no wine glasses or anything like that) or just a few plates (no big trays) until you become confident and strong on that side

The smoking thing is weird for me. As a customer at a restaurant if I smell smoke on a waiter I’m like “girl I get it” but it’s hard cause I know not everyone is like me. But it’s also weird because middle aged men who are top at their job are my best tippers.

Pull your head out of your kooch and stop smoking before shift. Yeah, middle aged men are financially well-off, horny, and bored with their wives/girlfriends, they'd hit on a dumpster fire if it didn't smell too bad.
