Great video and advice! Another way to minimize drips is to start a spray off the wheel and end the spray off the wheel. I think it is important how to minimize any chemicals going directly to the environment. Why did you not use an etching primer? Overall a very helpful video. Thanks for putting it together.
Great vid! The ONLY thing I would do differently is put the wheel on a couple of saw horses or some sort of a table to elevate it to waist high to make it more comfortable to work on.

So, when that pesky grimy break dust accumulates on that new painted rim in about one years time, how do you get it off without ruining the paint job? Can you spray that Sonax cleaner on that painted rim, or will that cleaner ruin the paint job?

How many cans did you go through for all four rims
It looks really good! I've done the same method for painting some old wheels as well, but what I find annoying is that once you get rocks or other stuff hitting the paint it creates nasty scratches that almost "dents" the new paint. Is there any ways around this? Thanks

I know I am 3 years late, but I personally use 2k clear coat and it makes the wheels pretty scratch resistant.

huge tip i learned spray painting, never aim the beginning of the spray or end of the spray on what your painting.. start on the side and end on the side. or youll get drips or splatter or uneven paint
This is really helpful. Thank you for the details in the video
Just did this on my 335i’s wheels, they look BRAND NEW. Couldn’t be happier!
Hi, nice video. Here is a spray paint tip: Do not paint your wheels laying down, the spray box work's much better in a vertical position, so stand up your wheels. That will make it more handy to reach hard to get places to.😊

Pro tip: when you're taking a break of finishing up with spraying, turn the can upside down and spray until the atomiser is clear. This will save you having to scrape off old/dried paint from the nozzle
@unboxviews
7 жыл бұрын
James Useless, only do that when you are going to store the can for days or weeks. Otherwise you are taking all the pressure out and then when the pressure goes away you will end up with paint inside of the can and won't be able to take it out.
@leopardcubpupkryky6940
